The only thing about automatic payment and consignment shops for me would be bidding on things that end throughout the week and combined shipping. I wouldn't bid on smaller cards if I had to pay $5 shipping each.
This right here is my issue. Although it’s crazy you can cause someone else to miss out on a card then proceed to not pay it’s gonna crush those of us who like to take advantage of not having to pay instantly but are 100% faithful to paying before the final date.
Will sniping still be possible with 3 seconds left? Or is a popup screen gonna come up asking about payment then lose the item?
I had 3 auctions under $5 not paid last week. Which is ridiculous imo

what is the difference in that CGC chart for on-site grading between the Economy and Standard levels? Both say Max value 1k per card...I wonder if Standard is supposed to say max value of 5k? 3k?

Prices for signings are in par, lower than National. Doesn't mean they aren't high compared to pack pulled as you said or even secondary. You are correct to laugh at Peyton signatures as he signed cards for years through his foundation for twenty bucks a pop. I will never understand why Strawberry is $99 (was $59 and then $79) and Gooden is always reasonable at around $29 per signature. But at the end of the day, these guys sign so much nowadays and flooding the market with signatures.
If finalnsale prices go down, then it is probably working to remove shill bids. Prices going up and down are common in this hobby. I don't buy during the up swings. I only bid up to my maximum "good deal for me" limit.
Great content as I enjoy patching in every so often. My conspiracy theory is PSA will charge a sub fee for their notes away from the primary owner. Total guess on my part but would make sense to me.
Man those wrestling prices are so inflated. Normally it's 60-80 bucks for an auto. I wonder if the uncharge is from the venue and the table prices.

I know what my shipping coats are for grading. If I was able to make the National I would do all my grading in one shot lol
semi-related to your Fanatics Fest autograph stuff: I was personally checking out details to get cards autographed at the National coming up and was surprised at the prices. Just like you said, you can easily find cheaper autos readily available on eBay, pack pulled or in-person autos that are slabbed and authenticated already. So, I went from being excited and thinking I would probably get autographs at the show of some of my former favorite players to now thinking there is basically no point in doing it based on the prices. I guess the shows/players set their own prices, but they are way above market value. Disappointing.
I think for most people it’s what I touched on, it’s getting a chance to meet the person and have that brief interaction.
The thing with McDavid is that it’s odd that he has not had a run up like Luka did. He has more playoff points than anyone in the past 30 years and broke 99’s single playoff assist record. With all that, he is likely to be the playoff MVP win or lose and if it’s the latter, he will only be the 2nd non goalie to ever do it. All that said, I guess my answer is I don’t know if his prices will jump with a win lol

Not everything is cheap. Teach your kid to work for something. I will never teach my kids stuff is just given to you. Show your kid how to trade & understand comps for cards. I see plenty young kids that do this already and are sharp. Those the kids of the future.
You can buy one already signed for half that lol
