I have a couple old cell phones I need to extract files from, am I supposed to remove the hard drive first? If so do you have a video on how to do that or on how to extract from a cell phone? Thank you in advance.

It doesn't appear as another drive? If you bring up the "THIS PC" folder and then plug in the drive does a new device/folder appear or do you get nothing?
@@mymediahelper No. I hear the "cling" but the drive icon doesn't appear, although bizarrely, if I click on the task bar's show hidden icons, it appears when right clicking on the pendrive icon to safely disconnect. I tried all three usb sockets. Same. And windows10 says my drivers are up to date. Frustrating ,-)
No. It's been working fine. In fact, I'm using it to recover files as I type this. I assume the power outlet is on. I suppose exchange it. Perhaps it's just a dud.

Do you happen to know what type of drive you're trying to access? I'll assume you have the unit hooked to your PC and not just plugged in to power. Was the drive reading information the last time used on a computer or whatever you have it connected to?
Here's a silly question and I ask them because in the IT world people do silly things. Is the power button on for the external reader? What kind of drive are you trying to connect? You'll want to look in your "This PC" folder to see the drive. Let me know if you have all that done and we'll figure it out. Thank you.
What type of phone. This device is for hard drives? For a phone you should only need the proper end for the phone that hooks into a USB port to your computer. I can make a video on it if you let me know the type of phone. Thank you.

yeah im still trying to figure out what went wrong i also tried downloading the driver .
old PC hard drive, will not recognize it.
