In this video, we talk about using the extensions curviloft and joint push pull to model a 3D skin over a 3D structure in SketchUp. Unlike other tutorials I've done before, this skin actually has thickness and sits over the skin, rather than intersecting with the structure geometry. This can be used to generate very interesting structural shapes, including space frames, tensile structures, and other structural 3D models.

Good overview, found interesting tricks in your video. Can you post something about organic shapes modeling? Body, plants or something, and witch plugs need to use for that. Or maybe something about retopology and cleaning models (not only clean3)/
Interesting - I haven't done a ton of stuff on organic modeling. I've created a couple vids talking about Artisan, SubD, and Vertex tools, but haven't really gone down that rabbit hole yet. One month I'm hoping to feature organic modeling vids, but haven't gotten there yet. Let me know if you need links to the Artisan/SubD videos. I did just release a video about quad face modeling today. Thanks!

Why do we have different jointpushpull settings? I only have the offset, classic and thicken settings.
is there a way to unfold the pieces that a construction consists of in order to mill it?
You'd have to model it completely differently, specifically for that application...

Do you know why my joint push pull tool keeps on having order even when set with no border setting? It keeps on having a border.
So you selected no borders, and it's creating a new face with unhidden geometry (all the triangles, etc)?
On my Joint Push Pull button it diesnt have the border option, why is this?
Is there anyway to change the shape of the geometry? Like let's say a hexagon? Thank you!
I don't understand the question - you could base it on whatever shape you want...

Question: do you know how to make the tool properties window bigger? I´m using a mac and it shows the options for the joint push-pull in a rectangular tiny window and I can barely make out what it says.
Maybe try decreasing your screen resolution and see if that helps?

not your greatest video, you backed up alot at each step and some steps were poorly explained, so unlike other videos where one can follow and reproduce your work, this one was difficult to follow as a step by step, you must keep down your inner dialogue, and keep up to the explanations more.
