- San Francisco legend Baldhead Rick tells Dregs One about his experience in the Bay Area rap scene after seeing his brother Cougnut rise to fame and his friend Cellski selling tapes in Lakeview, the neighborhood they all grew up in. Baldhead's very first song was with his group UNLV on Master P's classic compilation, West Coast Bad Boyz. From there, Baldhead was featured on hundreds of songs, albums and compilations, including 17 Reasons on Goldtoes' Black-N-Brown Entertainment. Along the way, Baldhead shares stores about encountering E-40, B-Legit, RBL Posse, 11/5, Guce, and Totally Insane. Since Cougnut's passing in 2001, Baldhead has worked to keep his brother's legacy alive.

Rick knew about all the early 90s northwest music. Years later on instagram I found him. There was, and still is a strong Bay and Northwest connection. The whole coast honestly. Didn’t matter the style.
Rick truely has a unique style. One of the best rappers worldwide

I was in a group (M.O.B.) with Frisco Kid. He was ahead of his time. So you must have know Sean (Star 80) too.
This is so good to hear. He gave props to my guy Proper Frisco Kid as one of the first rappers out of Lakeview. Me and Frisco were in a group called M.O.B. back in the early 90's. Our single we performed back then was Mac On.

Yeah somewhere in the archives for sure. Cougnut actually has unreleased tracks, one song called Plottin In My Mansion. Last I heard a Lakeview OG named Walker B had control of them. That was years ago though
