    I'll just leave this comment for those who read it.
    In Russian there are hard and soft sounds, most consonants have both a soft and a hard version, but some are exceptionally hard/soft, for example: Ж, Ц, Ш(hard) and Ч, Щ(soft).
    The rest of the sounds are solid by default, but it's worth adding Е, Ё, И, Ь, Ю, Я how they immediately become soft.
    And also О in the unstressed position is pronounced as А, but not everyone says that, yet some say О as О.
    Also, Е and Я can be replaced by И, Or E on Я, another combination of letters СЧ usually sounds like Щ.
    If you decide to start learning this language, then I'm sorry(There are many endings in this language that you need to remember)

  • @BrainVirgins
    @BrainVirgins Před 8 měsíci +14

    Good job, it's completely right. Allow me to add a few points:
    1. In English, there really is no exact equivalent for the sound "Ы," but that's not a problem. There's a somewhat unusual method for learning the letter and sound "Ы," but my experience shows that it works. Take a pencil in your teeth and pronounce the sound "И." This will help.
    2. It's easier to understand the soft sign in the context of examples. In Russian, there's the word "Тень" (shadow). In English, it sounds like "ten'." If you remove the soft sign, the last consonant "н" will be pronounced as a hard sound. The same applies to words like "лень" (len') (laziness), "сельдь" ( s'el'd ') (herring), and others. With the hard sign, it's also quite simple. It indeed serves to make the sound before it hard. For a simpler understanding, you can consider it as the sound "й." It's not entirely correct, but it will help you avoid mistakes in pronunciation.
    3. "Р" - you can draw an analogy with the Spanish "Р" sound. Also, remember the stereotypical parody of a Russian accent.

    For those who know English and try to learn Russian, a kindly reminder, when the "o" is not stressed, it pronounces as "a". That's why the “o” in Облако(cloud) also pronounced the same as "a" (This is what I learned from school as a Russian learner, if there's any mistakes, welcome to correct me!)

      I don't quite understand... but, in the video, the first "o" and the second "o" in Oблако do sound different, right? The first one sounds like "o" as in "go." The second one sounds like "a" as in "car"

    • @MoneyMaker-ek2nd
      @MoneyMaker-ek2nd Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@Jasmine_09_10_ Now I understand what you mean.
      That's right, if O is not stressed, then A is read.
      Even in our textbooks, transcription clearly shows this.
      In ordinary speech, we do not pronounce the classic A sound there.
      We have such a thing as deaf vowels that are not pronounced in full voice. In words Облако or Яблоко (apple) It's the voiceless vowels. At the same time, in the word Яблоко, the deaf A occurs twice, because the stress on the letter Я.
      I hope I didn't confuse you))
      I want to note that you are very good at understanding the rules of the Russian language.
      Believe me, your pronunciation of the A sound in the word apple will not be of particular importance. I will understand you without any problems. Nobody expects perfect Russian from a foreigner.

    I always thought that english equivalent to "ы" is the "i" sound that is preceded by the firm consonant, like in words "stop it", "put it" etc, but it's more apparent when the consonant is "p"

    • @RussianLevel1
      @RussianLevel1  Před 7 měsíci

      You're on the right track! The Russian vowel "ы" doesn't have a direct equivalent in English, which can make it a bit tricky for English speakers to pronounce. The example you provided with words like "stop it" or "put it" is a good way to approximate the sound. In these cases, the "i" sound is somewhat similar to the Russian "ы" when it's preceded by a firm consonant like "p" or "t".

    Для продвинутых иностранцев, кто уже умеет нормально читать по-русски.
    Твёрдый и мягкий знак в более древнем варианте русского произносились. Ь назывался Ерь, Ъ соответственно Ер. Они произносились как невыразительный звук Е. Ер при этом превращал звук согласной перед ним в твёрдый, а Ерь в мягкий. Сейчас они не произносятся, мягкий знак при этом сохранил свою функцию смягчать звук перед ним. Твёрдый знак применяется сейчас либо в отдельных словах исключениях либо после приставки перед гласной, чтобы показать, что гласная не смягчает последнюю согласную в приставке. Например слово подъезд. Е должна смягчить звук д в приставке, но в этом слове этого не происходит, д явно твёрдая, при этом делается микропауза, своего рода заминка перед звуком е из-за чего он произносится как будто со звуком й перед ним, это называется йотированной гласной.

    Мне интересно а вам трудно даётся русский язык или как?
    И зачем вы хотите его выучить?
    Мне просто любобытно

      Попробуйте почитать английские комментарии, кто-то говорит что у него есть русскоговорящие кузены, которые говорят почти только по русски и человек хочет удивить в своих знаниях русского и помочь им заговорить по английски, а кто-то - что у неё парень и его семья русскоговорящие и она хочет с ними говорить, кому-то просто интересно изучать язык.) И помните, что не только американцы изучают Русский язык, а испанцы, англичане, японцы, китайцы и много-много других людей, в том числе американцы!)) Русский язык один из самых сложных, трудно изучать его не только иностранцам, но и русские не всегда понимают, например, какая часть речи слово "Пожаренный" в контексте "Пожаренный в масле" (Части речи бывают разными в зависимости от того есть ли зависимые слова и др.) 😁
