Thank you. I cleaned it all up and now I can put it back together. All the The bearings are in good shape, and all the sprockets already look great so back together it goes

Thank you for your video. It has helped me out a lot. I have a 1984 Honda xr250r that I am rebuilding. Wanted to let you know you can get a new cylinder sleeve at LA sleeves in California. Mine is bad and I found this place. Not bad price.

@@dunemaster3179 yea that is what my motor is doing right now. I am on a budget each month. I buy one part a month and when I get them all together I will finish it. I went to O’Reillys yesterday and got your oil plug to take out the fly wheel. Thanks for that tip. If you have any more tips I will be grateful for them.

Funny thing about that gear that connects to a tachometer it doesn't come with one would have been nice to have a mod to allow it to connect to one though I have a 1994 XR250L and its pristine kind of sucks looking at this engine looking at it having gone to waste away outside for a decade it's a beautiful bike wish some people treated them better

You need to remove the carburettor, dismantle fully and clean thoroughly. The problem is fuel starvation when loaded, so check breather vents, emulsifier tube and float level.

How do you remember which bolts go where? Do you use a parts diagram?

I had the same throttle issue with my 85 XR250, took it to a Honda shop last week and they said it’s probably just a dirty carb and needs a valve adjustment, hoping it’s nothing serious but it seems to be a common issue with this era of RFVC engines

My issue was that I was using an aftermarket “performance” carb and I couldn’t make it work, but I gave up and put my old stock Keihin carb and it’s working fine now. Thanks for you suggestion 🙏🏻

Hi I have a ? For you. When I took off the left side cover where the Generator there was oil inside of it. Is that normal?

Yes, that's normal for 4 stroke engines
