- Always wanted to know how to use motion control to earn time in stop motion animation, making the computer control the boring movements in the background or for secondary elements.
This is how I benefit of Arduino an Dragonframe to focus my atention in the puppets performance.

WOW, that is just amazing, I love the idea how you made the river! Pretty awesome!
Do not pay attention to people complaining about your accent. I'm guessing they are mostly (smarties) Spanish. English speakers won't mind if your accent is better or worse, as far as they can understand you. They are used to hear all kind of accents. Great video, btw.
+Eduardo Campaña thanks for the support, I read every comment. I feel what is important to me is to comunicate the thing, sometimes the image talks themself. I am not english so I understand my accent is weird and my troubles talking makes people distract from the content. But I do this because I like it and hope the time teaches me a little bit. Thanks again!!
edu puertas You communicate perfectly. Amazing video!

this is an open forum, anybody can say anything about what ever they want
you have to decide how your going to spend your time and energy... talking about your craft or defending your cultural accent ... if the lateral then can we also please talk about cat videos and the cayman islands
its your show, its your channel, you have the responsibility of deciding what the topic of discussion is about.

i liked the accent. its sweet.
Who gives a dam about accent, give us knowledge
I am completely awestruck! Absolutely beautiful work! You are a true renaissance man.
You look so happy with your work. Have a fun!
Really impressed with your use of arduino, but even more impressed with your ingenuity in creating that river shot. Really awesome.
I can see the enjoyment in your face while you relate your project.
Full marks for ingenuity.
Same to me
WOW! This is probably the best application in practicality I've seen with microcontrollers. Well done dude ! As a fellow photographer, I can definitely appreciate the workflow optimisation. Kudos !
Incredible that you master such a complex technic as the animation frame by frame and still take some of your time to explain it to other ! You earn all my admiration and attention
That's freaking killer! :-) I love how you did the water effect with cellophane. :-) totally cool!
Awesome stuff dude! You make really nice animations, and I can see how the Arduino is a big help with them. Really neat.
DUDE YOU"RE AWESOME !
Just needed to be said :)
What you've made is really AMAZING. Keep it up!

Wow cool one Dude.... for me this was a surprise ... Great work... waiting for more videos.
That was awesome dude!!!
Fantastic work! Never seen somthing similar before. Keep on going...
really cool how to 'automate' making stop-motion animations
Admirable tu trabajo colega.
that stepper motor did not sound healthy
I guess that's because microstepping of arduino wasn't perfect coded wich is so hard. While this is intended for move forward, stop, shoot, and repeat the mpst important thing is precision not to be smooth like a 3D printer.
Alberto Mora Yeah I see. Btw my own steppers didnt sound any better than yours xD
usually its better to not actually program it, but to make a counter that goes through the proper states using flip flops, all the arduino should be programmed for then is to send a number of pulses to the counter, and the counter does all of the coil firing.
On my little knowledge about steppers learned from 3d printing, if you use arduino with a stteper driver it is actually easy to get it to work with a simple library. The micro stteping is done by the driver chip and smoothes the movement as it generates a sinusoidal like current wave driving 1 step with each wavelength cycle. The quality of "smoothness" is managed by the drivers proficency to aproximate the current variation to a sinusoidal wave on each pulse and by the number of microstepps it allow, for example 1/16 1/32 or 1/128. That means if you can aproximate the sinusoidal variation of one supposed continuous current cycle for each pulse by subdivide the wave in a 1/128 discrete micropulses, the movement of stepper motor should be really smooth. Probably this motor has a simple driver which doesn't care about microstteping. So if the motor has a 1.8º step (almost all of nema 17 or nema 23) one step means the motor inaccurately moves 1.8º with drifting and backlash as the ideal current wave is not filtered by the simple motor driver. Please correct me.
I am not qualified to tell you if your theory is good or not but I will say that for what's it worth you explained it really well. I hope someone will tell you, I'm interested to know as well.
For stop motion, the best would be micro-stepping right?
I'm building my own timelapse slider, and you are my inspiration!
This is a show ... Congratulations friend!
Increible macho, Que trabajaso y que paciencia
Excellent mate.. Keep it going!
So creative, you are awesome man
I like that
I love your accent, sounds relaxing and enjoyed ur videos. Keep it up
Esto está fregón, felicidades campeón.
This is amazing, very cool!
really good stuff man, just now finding you and reading and watching all your videos. i love how you have an accent but are extremely understandable like it requires zero effort to comprehend what youre trying to convey and what youre trying to enunciate. +1 keep enjoying yourself
thanks kev!!!
That river mechanism is pretty smart. good stuff.
I love seeing creative uses of technology just like this.... keep up the great work!
Technology helps a lot!
Very cool project. Such a practical and creative use of robotics!!
Amazing setting!
amazing, great Job, love your video.
aaaaand subscribed. I remember I used to make small stop motion animations as a kid, and this is so heart warming. Now, as I'm using arduino to control robots and planes, I enjoy the fact that you use it in an artistic manner, it really shows how limitless and wonderfull it is. And as for your animation, I love it, it is so warm and nicely done. Keep up the work, I believe in you.
Thanks, I really feel how amazing is this technology and how funny is to play with!

You are incredible! It is so great to see electronics helping to create so many cool things. I am a software developer, so usually see guys using for "nerd things" and not for such different stuff like that. I really enjoyed, congrats!!!
Must be awesome to make software! Make cool things is fun but it is hard to find ideas... That's why I need a lot of time to do videos. Thnaks!
You are nuts! Great video :D
Excellent work!
