Izzy has always been like Rhonda Rousey all hype. He in no way came close to what The Spider or Jon Jones. Most of his fights were boring and when you look at the totality of who he has fought. He didn't fight top tier fighters, current or former champs in his first ten fights. So the potan can fight ten more fights in three years and accomplish far more than what Izzy has done and retire at 40. Alex never defended. Izzy is a 7 time and two time world champion. He is also the most active champion the UFC has ever seen. All true. Only thing I don’t agree is the narrative that Izzy was playing possum in the second fight. The truth is Alex was dominating and got careless going for clear knockout. Instead Izzy, in survival mode, found his target and landed a beautiful right hand. The rest is history. Dropping all that weight to fight at middle weight was crazy. I truly believe he did it because he needed Izzy for the fast track and knocked out his few opponents to get there. If Izzy wasn’t afraid or needed the $ it would be a big $$$ fight for the belt at light heavyweight. Let’s hope Jamahal heals up quickly and in there with Alex asap.
