- The oldschool runescape mid game is really where the game starts to open up. Your account is a high enough level to start powering through quests diaries and even some mid level bosses. It can however be somewhat overwhelming if you don't have a goal.
Today I am going to be sharing the most important goals you should start working towards in the mid game. These are my personal picks so obviously there are loads of other directions you could take an account, but I feel like these offer a way to progress your account in a balance way!

Needed this. I’ve been trapped in the mid game since early game.
Just do slayer until max combat, you will have a big bank and you will be able to do any content easy.
Best tip I can tell people is to don't hoard gold spend it on your stats ❤ way better to spend the gold for bandos on your stats over having low stats but having bandos ❤
Best tip I can give you, is hoard gold, you will need it for end game items, second best tip is to not raid and just go to gwd and do sara, bandos and kree.
@@byrospyro4432 nah dude it will take forever or you will never get the stats to even use the end game items hoarding gold early off the only reason high lvls have end game items is because they first got the stats to even use the items it's way easier to make gold , do gw or do raids with rigor and 90+ range and d hide than 75 range eagle eye and armadyl

The best tip i can say to any level play is to spend the gp on your stats! Its not worth hording gold just to have a big green stack or spending your bank on somthing like bandos tassests when you dont have somthing like piety its well worth spending that gp on like bursting your mage or chinning range or getting 77 pray and rigour and augury or even getting like 83 construction gp will come and go but the stats are what you really want! And the higher the stats the faster gp comes too ❤
I have a friend that went for 99 herblore as his first 99 , you should invest into something you need , also new updates play a huge role on what is best to go for

Hey for the slayer imbued, do PvP arena you'll get it in like 1 hour! Especially if you find 3 other people to collaborate with and keep running tournaments against eachotherm a Pvp arena loss is 12k points and it's only like 250k points for the scroll of imbuing
@@mickdunn7291 GOTR is a godsend for RC. With base 70s you should be able to afk NMZ 10 minutes at a time to imbue slayer helmet if you don't feel like LMS. I REALLY hope the new varlamore 2.0 activity is either wintertodt for herblore or blast furnace for herblore, anything that can improve that grind. I've been doing the Wildy slayer Strat from this video and while the drops are nice the slayer xp rate is like 8k/hr, doubt I'll keep doing it. Seems like slayer is going to be the first thing to really slow down my account, first grind since level 3 that can't be done in a single week of nonstop focus.

Biggest mid game unlock for WFH is this super tough quest called Bone Voyage so I can afk all my combat skills to 99 while getting paid.
What do you mean?
Training at ammonite crabs? No! Don't do it past lvl 60 in any combat skill; unless you just want to, otherwise there's no reason to be there.

@@evdaarful It unlocks Fossil Island, which has Ammonite crabs there. You can safely train combat stats up relatively AFK, although the drops aren't great. Most players would recommend training on Slayer tasks if you can!
@@evdaarful it unlocks fossil island which is a popular place for training combat stats as you can go AFK for 10 minutes while fighting ammonite crabs. There are several other useful things on the island including bird houses and wyverns.

I'd also probably recommend unlocking void gear sets once you complete medium combat diary just for the extra points to save time from that grind. I personally found the void gear to be fairly helpful in a variety of content from zulrah to some grandmaster quests (can also be used in earlier ToA if you want to make gp whilst learning raids). Also makes elite void a nice goal for those comfortable learning zulrah
ngl as much as I love these guides and the chunkman series you're doing I'd love to see the typo videos you do at shortcat be implemented here, like random challenges I guess, I feel like you have ur way with live commentary makes a simple challenge or like a random video idea so much more entertaining
I've killed prob like 5k+ of the Sulfur dudes. I think of them like Sandcrabs with loot. As an ironmanbtw, it's free Prayer potions and supers and you just afk there. It's great afk exp all for free. :) They drop iron and coal so it's cannon balls passive too.
For the grandmaster quests, I recommend Monkey Madness 2 first. It's by far the easiest since every boss is flinchable or safespotable.
It also requires 69 slayer which is rough. (I'm suprised that the Myreque questline isn't on there for Hallowed Sepulcher)
@AffablyAndrew 69 slayer is a bit high but it still has arguably the lowest reqs for any grandmaster quest. Sins of the Father isn't a grandmaster quest which is why it wasn't mentioned there.
I would say song of the elves since the boss has a percent max hp attack. The lower your hp the lower the hit.

A fun one for short term goals is to do some master or elite clues. gets you some nice skill goals.

I came back from a very long break since 2012. I cam back March this year and the first thing i did was to actually beat Jad to hype me up again. And i defeated him on 3rd try, now im fully back. With new bosses introduced, Jad is an introduction compare to a lot of bosses. Beating him would give you a whole new level of confidence. Now im stacking Zulrah with my lvl 88 combat. I can do 2 kills easy per run, thats 150k-200k per 5 mins.
Pro tip with your herb runs, throw in hops runs too, yanillian hops, seeds are dirt cheap, few gp each, but each hop harvested is over 1k each :)
The more I see mid game info videos like this, the more I realized I've barely scratched what the mid game is.
Dream Mentor is also needed for access to all the Lunar spells, though ai forget specifics
I wish the combat diary had a runelite plugin so I could keep track of shit easier like I can with the achievement diary.
Finished perilous moons yesterday at 158 kc. Got the last 2 items just killing a single boss in about 15 kc.
i like what people said for me it was def spending money on slayer and letting lose in cannon balls to get better xp

Herb runs have been a huge source of my income through the mid game
I know it's way more open-ended but I'd love you to do a lategame one, just general things to do pre-raids like getting a questcape, learning corrupted gauntlet, doing low invo solo ToAs etc. big love
This. I think your describing later mid-game. Most of this video is early game (med. diaries, farm guild, etc.) or the very start of mid game.
I'm at 2100 total, nearly done all elites, inching towards a few goals. But any grind at this point feels so long. Would be nice to see some options layed out.
@@CZcamshandle579 Yah, I was considering maxxing, raiding, pet hunts all diaries etc ENDgame and then the chunk of content before that lategame,but i guess you could call it late midgame too.
feels crazy to have like 2k hours logged and ur bossing with 90s stats and still be considered midgame don't it? x)
really i just wonder what goals flippingosrs would prioritise after players make their first 100m and start dipping their toes into the late(ish)game stuff.
Going for quest cape and hard diaries. 3 quests left and halfway through hard diaries.. think i just need 75 smithing (at 70) and 65 runecrafting (at 60)

I haven’t played in like 1.5 years, did they need wilderness boss difficulty? Because last time I played they were not considered very easy
kinda sucks that i was once watching these guides just mere months ago, now that i have all of them, i feel a strange sense of nostalgia. I don't wanna re-experience it via another account, but damn, what a journey that was. Was it worth it? Hell fucking yea it was.

Most of these work for ironmen! Slayer might take more priority to get a whip but many of these tips apply still.
As an iron now entering the late game I highly recommend going for your questcape, don't slack on your herblore, try to do some diaries whenever you feel like it but most importantly: do grinds you feel like doing! Whatever makes you play is the most efficient, burning yourself out is not

Idk why he said calvarion is low risk… it’s not. You will get pked. It’s hunted 24/7
You can do Calvarion with less than 80k risk, and with one click seed pod teleport, you can escape 80-90% of PKers. If you combine this with a scout, you are virtually unkillable.
@@NightCrafted were talking about mid game goals here… that means no seed pod, and that definitely means no scout.
@@troyrussell177 yeah, but you can still do Calvarion in monks robes and 3 iteming. So basically your deaths can be covered in 3-4 calv kills. It's also possible to camp the 3x3 area in the entrance and leave as soon as a pker comes in

some of these goals feel near endgame with the reqs to get them lol would be interesting to see how different this would be for an iron
They're really not, endgame is generally considered to be raids, (slayer) bosses that require A tier gear to be killed efficiently and any skilling related content that would require 80-85+.
Flipping did an excellent job keeping his recommendations in the mid game. Many of these goals can be attempted with lvl 50-70 skills or combat stats which is exactly the mid game! He even recommends MEDIUM diaries, it doesn't get much more mid game than that.
For ironmen one of the major differences is the buying of upgrades obviously. Getting higher tier weapons has a different progression and attaining the advanced prayers requires raiding which is definitely closer to endgame, though Cox can definitely be completed in mostly mid game gear.
I'd love to hear what tips you found to be endgame, you might be holding yourself back!

I would argue most of these goals are the start of midgame. Once you got these goals, the midgame grind starts. Even for iron, just takes longer.
Blowpipe really worth it? Idk man, seems like rcb or even dcb does the and its way cheaper
depends on what you're doing. if you're in the mid game and rely on things like ruby bolt procs to do damage quickly, then yeah stick with the crossbow. but for things like shadow phase at akkha and monkey room yeah youre gonna want a blowpipe or at least an atlatl. you can get by with the crossbow on most things, but the blowpipe will be a quality of life improvement for others
if you're stuck in the mid game and your poor and desperately need xp than buy a ursine chain mace and rush wildy slayer. One of the best ways to build your account. Incredible xp with very respectable gp.
How I got out of Mid-Game as someone who is very bad at Combat: Get Hard Falador Diary -> Kill Giant Mole in Falador Park (pray melee, make or buy Bullseye Lantern) and grind grind grind. Exchange noted items to the Gardener in the building to the West for Nests, Crush nests, sell crushed nests. Stick to melee until you can afford An Abyssal whip; price keeps dropping, you’ll be able to afford on in a few hours of grinding. Mole takes no skill, it’s follow him and grind it out.

It was a high level boss in rs3, expect it to drop something big
Jagex post says it will bring new BIS melee necklace and a fashion halberd with utility and DPS comparable to ghrazi rapier. I'm always happy with new weapons even if they aren't the meta, I expect it will start at 30m but will drop to Ofang price in a few months post release. Necklace will probs be 24m+ forver more and will later get dunked on and nerfed like the occult necklace.
Interesting proposition since this should be a boss that brings 100-110 cl accounts to the late game.

Wildy money makers. Ewww. I'd rather not deal with PKers. I have zero positive experiences doing anything in the wilderness. Whenever i have to do something like a clue step, i just try to get in and get out asap, and the whole time it's a ride through the main road of anxiety town. I seriously hate how many mid-level bosses have to be in the wildy, because some asshat who will kill you and exclaim something cringy like "im warrior" is inevitably gonna ruin it.

Why not complete all quests? Doing all quests in game will make your account mid end game on its own.
I really like the concept of these type of videos. But the example given are really weird to me.
Finishing perilous moons is so far off from getting dragon defender.
I'd like to get more stats / a story around what the midgame is.
Got my d def as soon as possible, around 62att and 68 strenght. I am at 80 att and 83 strength now but periolous moons is such a hassle. The bloodmoon is way too strong to really enjoy and grind out periolous moons. I dont feel like this belongs in midgame, unless you're saying that midgame is 90 in all melee stats.

I wish we'd just be given back a 2007 copy of the game with no future updates, just bot bans and bug fixes. We could spend a couple years getting barrows gloves and best in slots then just relax knowing we'll never have to do more BS in the future that we don't want to do.

@@SetariM Why do 38,000 accounts have Max capes on OSRS and the game has tens of thousands online every day? The game doesn't end at maxing, it ends when you say it does. People find endless ways to enjoy the game they like, and if a game was never going to change and truly was old and cherished for that, it would be that way.

The game would probably be dead if it never got content updates.

Kill experiments to train? There's nightmare zone and coom crabs to kill instead 3x as fast. Mining? 100,000+ people in 2013 voted to KEEP THE 2005 MINING ANIMATION but what do we have... more horrible unwanted, forced poll garbage. Every new item gets a new animation for no reason too.
