That lesson is brought to life in this story of a young girl who reminds her preoccupied family what matters most this time of year and always.

I watched this video for the first time in 2009. A member from the ward I was serving in showed this to us missionaries after Christmas dinner, and I have never forgotten the wonderful spirit I felt that day. Since then, I have been coming to this video every year, sometimes multiple times each year because of what I felt that day and keep feeling today. I'm grateful beyond words for this, and for the Savior, who inspired all of this work.

Every year it seems that we need this same reminder. The world just sucks us in and thankfully we have reminders like this where we can step outside of the world and remember the Savior. He is the reason for the season.
Funny you'd say that. My six year old was saying her prayers a couple of nights ago. Among other things she said, "Bless the daddies who are out of work." When she was finished I asked her, "Why did you say that about the daddies?," thinking someone had told her about the economy or something like that. She said, "I don't know. I just thought maybe there's a dad somewhere who doesn't have a job." She's said the same thing a couple times since then. I think little kids get it. She made me think.
CHRIST is the sole meaning of Christmas
This is so meaningful! I wish my family had traditions...they don't go to the church. I'm the only one who does, besides my cousin and her family.

You're not alone. It looks like you and I have the exact same issue. All of my immediate family has passed away, my father, two brother and now I'll be certainly alone thus Christmas with dealing with the loss of her life that occurred in March of this year. It will be the VERY first time in my life that I'll be without my family. But thank GOD! That I didn't stay there I'd went my and shared what GOD had put in my hands, and was to play the Violin 🎻. Now, I have a family that I can call and go to for any kind of help I may need like loneliness. But, I won't be alone this year like I thought I was because by ME just reaching out to bless other with music, GOD had turned that situation all around and now I'm invited to be meeting with a lot of other people this year, to parties to perform and being invited to a friend house this Christmas to spend with her and her family. You see my friend, once when you reach out to others even in your situation, you TOO will be blessed by God 🙏 to find a family that does go to church and would love for you to be a part of their lives. Just like GOD has done to me. So, just pray 🙏 to The Father about and you'll see. DINT GIVE UP!!! Have a yourself a very Merry Christmas 🎄 and a happy New Year!!!! ☺️

Yeah. Christmas isn't just about gifts, we celebrate Christ's birth in Christmas, even though we cant have gifts, but the Spirit of Christmas is with us. MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone. and Happy Holidays!
It's those who have the least but who are still happy and innocent that should enjoy life the most. very powerful video and message, not because the girl was powerful, but because the spirit of CHRISTmas is powerful. The spirit was seen through the most innocent and happiest of the family, also helping the family. the 8 year-old understood christmas, do you? Keep Christ in Christmas, for everyone's benefit. Although material is important, Christmas and thanksgiving remind us that material is not life. The part about gift-giving is cliche; let's not forget the influence of business on this holiday over the years, but gifts should still serve as a symbol of the true gift -and that will always be Jesus and each other.

Mormons are Christians, we believe in the words of the Bible and Jesus Christ, we fallow HIS commandments and we fallow his words.
Behaving more Christ like is better than any religion. We should behave more like Christ not only during Christmas but everyday in our lives.
I remember when I was little being in awe of the nativity. It was one of my favorite things about Christmas. It was so special and I couldn't keep my eyes and fingers off it.

I was having such a bad day and my Christmas spirit was gone.....I literally typed in "where can I buy some Christmas spirit?" and this was the first video I seen.....made me remember that no matter where our families or friends are...they love us and are thinking of us. Wow..this is a good video for everyone who celebrates Christmas...the true meaning of celebration is about the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ.. We must remember him when we are celebrating Christmas! We must thank Him.. Christmas is not only all about foods, lights, and gifts but it's all about the birth of Jesus Christ when He came here on earth very long time ago.. Good little child, she knows and remembers..

our world today is really in great chaos - war, rumors of war, starvation and the like - and sometimes it is impossible to think the goodness of the season, the great feelings it wil bring to the hearts of the people. this video really reminds us to think and feel Christ in our lives, not only for this season, but all throughout the years. i love this video!!!
I remember a Christmas like that. I told my girls that Santa was poor and we would not have gifts. It was the best Christmas ever, because I remembered Christ and the secret Santa remembered us. Have a Merry Christmas everyone.

This is really cool because my seminary teacher was talking about how it is to celebrate Jesus Christ's birthday, but we are the ones who receive the gifts, the fun, the family and all the precious treasured memories, but he has to suffer our sins and he had to die for us. Seems like the best gift we can give him is just to simply remember him.

@bythefyre I think children easily understand the spirit of Christmas. I don't believe we need fantasy to teach truth. Christ is what brings the feeling of peace and Christmas. I've seen it work in families and simple Christmas celebrations we've had. Just being together with the Spirit of Christ really is enough.
