    Very detailed review, hopefully the new rogues are going to drop soon. I'm still on 125mm randal trucks, figering out what angle and bushings I like to ride best. I have the randals about one year now, and for my speed(60 kph) they are pretty stable.

    • @downhill254skate
      @downhill254skate  Před 2 lety

      Hehe, you will love them. Likely feel super different from the Randals, and I bet your 60kph top speed will feel much easier to hit time and again

    Now we just need Rogue to restock these... they've been hinting at a new drop for months. You mentioned november.... WHAT HAVE YOU HEARD?! hahhahha
    Great review, you solidified my desire to buy these. I really want to try these with a really soft bushing setup for slalom or some short-distance pumping.... it would be crazy to be able to pump the same board uphill and then slide back down the hill. That's the dream.
    Finally. I'm REALLY hoping the new drop has new kingpins.

    • @downhill254skate
      @downhill254skate  Před 2 lety +1

      Hmmm, don't know if they'll be the best for pumping, but they could so it if wedged high enough and set with a soft insert/spherical - like the 55* exiles. But definitely not one setup for both downhill and pumping.
      Hope you get them bro!

    Do the spherical bearings come lubricated with grease or is it recommended to grease/lubricate the spherical bearings for optimal performance and longevity?

    where did you buy these spherical???

  • @num_4881
    @num_4881 Před 2 lety +1

    I skated Exile Hydras v2 with APS inserts and with sphericals and DT slalocybins (which have sphericals in base also) and came to some conclusions for myself.
    With inserts it feels like they make it easier to slide directionally. While sphericals make gripping shaky corners much easier. Actually with slalocybins it feels even more so.
    But I feel like sliding accurately takes more skill and controll with sphericals and for some reason I want to take grabs far more often with them. Though I feel like using them for races.
    I think "bump-steer" is a result of them having such tremendous rake. Felt something similar with Hydras.

    • @no66
      @no66 Před 2 lety

      Could it be that slacocybins are regular bushing and not tall, giving slighty more harder lean so have to grab more? Just putting it out there.

    • @num_4881
      @num_4881 Před 2 lety

      @@no66 the funny thing is that I never skated trucks with tall bushings for even a session, so I can not actually tell )
      But it slalocybins have lots of lean at 50/15 (as I skate them atm) and they are almost freakishly turny.

    • @no66
      @no66 Před 2 lety

      @@num_4881 Anything with spericals is going to be turny :-) I also skate slalom (cones) with GOG's at 55 / 5. With spercial most of the turn happens because the truck moves instantly compared to lag with pivots.
      Anyway, all interesting stuff and an elemnet of personal prefrenses. I don't get along with sliding with a rear truck under 35*

    • @downhill254skate
      @downhill254skate  Před 2 lety +2

      Interesting thoughts. I'll have to get some exiles to try! Also, I have some shims so maybe I should try rogues with the short bushings? haha, is it a good idea, we'll see.
      I def think sphericals have better performance, but they suck over rough roads ...

    • @num_4881
      @num_4881 Před 2 lety

      @@downhill254skate Rogues with conventional bushings will be a very interesting experiment. Especially if you have precise shims. Looking forward to it if you will have time.
