- Anyone who follows Khyzyl knows that the C5 Corvette is near and dear to his heart. He recently purchased one and has been trying to decide what modifications he wants to make. In this episode of "Rendered," Khyzyl designs a conceivable build inspired by the C5-R GT race car and adds several elements from other well-known Corvettes and JDM builds. Who knows, maybe one day he'll take this concept from a render to reality.

@@dotjpeg-bng Chevrolet engineers experimented with a C3 Vette back in the 70s called the Aerovette, particularly the XP-897GT variant. It was fitted with a 2 rotor Wankel engine.

I love corvettes I myself own a C4 in Japan with 120k miles but now it only has 30k miles because my engine broke down at 120k 🙂 so I replaced it with a WRX 4 cylinder engine 😅 but still it runs pretty good .

Loved my 01 Z51 with heads, Vortex rammer, cam, and LG longtubes. Last mod was a towel for the passenger seat. Even before the power adders, the vette makes them wet. (Flashes gold chain)

“JDM” isn’t interchangeable with “modified”. I have no major gripes with the design, but I really wish people would stop throwing around the term “JDM” on applications they don’t make sense in

I'm not 100% disagreeing with you, but I also don't think he was clear. I think the intent was to style the Corvette with the same kind of styling cues as seen on JDM tuned cars. So it's a JDM-style Corvette.
@@UD503J right, I agree and I got what he was going for, but even that - what exactly is taken from JDM styled cars? from the video, most of his inspiration came from the C5-R - an entirely USDM built car lol. now, if this video was him building the RE-Amemiya C5 he showed off, I'd totally understand him referring to it as JDM. referring to this as "JDM styled" is basically my original point that it just doesn't make sense. I'm ranting a bit, I know, but something I commonly see among car enthusiasts that is a pet-peeve, as it totally overlooks what JDM styling truly is
@@rvrsprk I will try to find the timecode, but I thought he said he pulled some styling ideas from an FD RX-7 as well, but I do agree with you about the C5R as the main inspiration (not being JDM).
Japanese style would make more sense than JDM style. People think their USDM Supra is a JDM car hehe

Very cool take on a streetable C5R but I was a little disappointed there were no engine mods. Like to see it get some power adders, then it’ll run as fast as it looks!
For a person like me listening to this in my earphones, I really hate how the music is way too loud compared to the narration.
The sides and the back are my favorite parts.

I always thought the C5 Corvette was JDM like the FD Mazda RX7, Toyota MR2 Turbo, and Acura NSX.

The right color choice is so important. That design took on a whole new life as soon as it turned red with the carbon rear

It's not the same by any means... but it gives me the vibe of some of the later C4 Callaway conversions.
Love your new C5. Followed when the previous owner buildt it. You shuld design a wing that attatche to the frame in the back. Like those bil wangs on GT86 etc... I think these are cool with a flare of JDM style :-). Working on my own C5 and im waiting for rims and widebody i got for it. JR11 wheels and corvette creationz wide body kit. Love your design here as well. T%hey really are similar to the RX7

Not particularly fond with the wheels and "stanced" look of the finished product, but it's an interesting design concept. I'm sure with a little bit of body work, you can turn a regular C5 Corvette into a "strassenversion" of the C5-R.
Yeah, I liked the design, but a little less "slammed" would compliment this design better.

The wheels are definitely a modern take on the old Callaway Supernatural double three spoke wheels. Not saying they weren’t inspired by Advan, but that’s what they look most similar to imo.
u should've just made it look exactly like the C5R and gave it a full blown LM aero package, like a ACR viper but wit slicker and higher downforce

This is a longshot, but could you do a render of what the SRT Dart could have been? The rumors were that they couldn't keep the thing on the test track even with AWD and it had mid 300's in horsepower. If it did make it to production, it would have been a worthy rival to the STI/EVO battle (IMO) and even given an RS3 a challenge depending on packaging and build quality.
Either that or a GRMN Camry with the 3.4 tt and AWD 😅😁

My Dad has a red C5Z he bought new and I'd love to fit a set of HRE 505's on it with a 8 into 1 collector going to a single center exhaust and outlet for that Italian look/ sound or Regamasters like Tommyfyeah's Dream RX7.

I really like everything you've done with the car, the only "dealbreaker" for me here is the fact that how it's done is unreal and undriveable only due to how low it is. Yeah yeah, I know you could bag the car, but still. raise this one for 3cm and it will look perfect.

Kyza, that's not what JDM means. Racecar bodykits are made by any manufacturer from any country including and not limited to Japan.
