    You remain the great master of video tutorials, Steve. I've been a fan for years ... purchased Camtasia thanks to one of your earlier videos. Learned a ton about video and related tech from you. Thanks for the huge effort to make high quality consistant content.

    I just found this channel, and was thinking "I know this guy from somewhere." Then he showed Dotto's Data Cafe and I remembered where from. That was a really good show! I used to love watching that in my early computer days.

    Steve I’m always impressed with how well you clearly explain subjects. The quality of your videos are always excellent. I’ve been a fan for years, but after starting my own CZcams channel over a year ago, I’m even more impressed with your work. Bravo!

    Appealingly IS a word, I think, but I admit I am german.
    That platform is something I will look in, I am getting into your line of work, I help seniors in the city I live in with their questions around smartphones usage etc., and I have begun making videos.

  • @mistergeorgie
    @mistergeorgie Před 2 lety +1

    This is one of your best!
    And you are SO GOOD at this!
    You know what would be great? Spending a week with you, following and watching what you do... And seeing and hearing that razor-sharp mind at work...
    Hey! Maybe... you should invite a skilled, small team to do exactly that... create a video-diary (with friendly commentary)... asking questions, probing a little..... I am sure so many of your folllowers would love a fly-on-the-wall piece....
    Meantime, I have Camtasia 9 (but I haven't really used it). Maybe I should dust it off and give it a go...
    Final thought: I like the idea of drawing onto the screen... as a more individualised and flexible way of focussing attention on an object. But Camtasia doesn't allow this, I'm right? And I guess any workrounds would defeat the advantages that presets and formats bring to the element of efficiency in the process.....
    One again, thanks..... I'm awestruck at your communication abilities...

    • @dottotech
      @dottotech  Před 2 lety

      Thanks! I am not sure following me would be as interesting as you are hoping!
      Drawing on screen, you could use an ipad as an input device as a workaround.

    Thanks Steve. Very clear. Would you mind a bit of f/b? I personally find the clutter around your microphone very distracting. I realise it’s a professional mic but perhaps you might take a look at moving distracting elements away. I’m new to your channel and you seem very professional so I hope you don’t mind this comment. Also how to you rate Camtasia vs Adobe Premiere plus Afterefffects which I tend to use?

    • @dottotech
      @dottotech  Před 2 lety

      Noted! But I will probably leave the BG close to the way it is, I use all that stuff....:-)
      For the style of tutorial video I do, where the computer or phone screen is the real "star of the show" Camtasia has it all over the traditional video editing apps.
      The built in features and tools to manage the screen elements makes all the difference.
      Camtasia is not as good at classic editing, but you get used to how it handles transition etc, and while not as good as Premier, you can create automations that again help in the process of creating tutorial type videos.

    Steve, I've used Camtasia and Snagit at my previous employment and love those programs but am no longer at the company. Do you have runner-up applications if the price point is too much? Thanks

    • @dottotech
      @dottotech  Před 2 lety +1

      I would say Snagit has expanded a lot so you may be able to get away with just it.
      But IMO Camtasia and Screenflow on the Mac are the best options, Perhaps an online tool like Screenflow-a-Matic may serve, but if you are used to Camtasia, i can promise you will be dissapointed.
