I never missed them when it was possible for me to watch them on TV. They grew together, a skating pair, two friends, lovers, married, parents. Always they surprised me with their class, elegance, then tenderness and love. And off course their amazing skill on ice. I was devastated when he died. I can't believe I didn't get to watch them skate back then. All I could rememenber was her mostly. I guess it's true he spotlighted her because he didn't like skating that much.
So shocked when the news was released to the media that he had died. Skating fans were totally stunned that a man in his prime would be taken down so quickly by sudden heart problems. Saw Ekaterina at one of her first solo appearances. It was bittersweet to watch her skate solo.
