This is the most common sense video I've seen on making a low cost, effective step. Thanks for doing the leg-work to find the items that make it simple.
Thank you!
I bought this same setup for my boat trailer, then to make it more safe I put a piece of bent conduit as a hand hold while using, it’s a lot harder getting out than getting in. I drilled two bolts to hold conduit in the bottom of step and let it come out then a 180 degree bend and let it come up about 30 inches.😊 hope this helps someone.😊
Thank you for the info. Im sure it will!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!
I just bought the both parts for $50 total on Amazon and easily installed them on my trailer without having to drill any holes.
Glad I could help!
Thanks for making this video. I bought the exact pieces and built and mounted it today. It’s makes getting in and out WAY easier!
Ooohhhh! New truck! Pretty! Couldn’t tell, but always recommend stainless hardware.
Great idea. I just followed your example and added one like it to my boat trailer. Works great. Enjoy your videos very much.
Great idea and video! You’ve earned a sub my man! Last year I took a fall stepping from the tongue to the bow at the boat ramp. I’m 6”4’ and I weigh 240lbs, gravity hates my guts to say the least. I’m like you, I didn’t want to spend all that money on something so simple. I’ve been looking for ideas, and your idea is pure genius. Thanks!
Thanks Terry!
Great ! Just did this to my boat trailer. The only thing I did different was to add a one inch thick spacer under the bolts that go across the top of your trailer and drop the bottom bolts to the last hole. Piece ended up being 1x3x4 . this gives you an extra inch of lift. At my age every inch helps. I used a thick piece of plastic I had but you could use a piece of hardwood or a couple pieces of 1 inch square metal tubing, Thanks for the video.
Nice!! Glad it worked out for you. Definitely one of my best upgrades!
That's a great idea! I have a boat on the way and was ready to plunk down the $400 for a step system.. I'm gonna try to make this work instead👍
Just a suggestion.. maybe add a non-slip pad on the top of your trailer...another excuse to add more cool foot bling! 😎
I have some left over so I will probably do that!
My wrench support bar is straight up so I bolted directly to it. Your balance is much better than mine and I'm still trying to figure out a grab bar that will work after that the fishing life will get better.
Great idea! I think I'll do the same, but I'm worried about the spare tire carrier strenght. It's made to carry a wheel with the rim, probably 40/45 lbs. Being me almst 200 lbs couldn't it bend or break?
That's why I threw that disclaimer in there. But I'm 180 and use mine at least twice a week. She's still holding strong. The metal used for the spare tire holder is actually thicker than used for the actual step
That's pretty awesome. With my knees, I definitely need a step or two. Will be using your idea.
Hey your video showed up on my feed. After watching this i noticed that up could almost mount it on the 4 bolts next to your winch at the lowest setting and would eliminate the tire mount
Amazing work and thanks for sharing this!
No problem!
Thanks for sharing your ingenuity. I am so gonna fab something like this for my little boat trailer. As i was watching you use it, it gave me another idea.
Works like a charm and I’m 270lbs
Thank you
Good idea, I like the cool foot finish too!
Great video and content, I am very likely heading in this direction
Thanks!!
Great idea!! You said top of the tongue to the top of the step is about 10". What is it from top of the trailer to the top of the bow? Trying to see if this will work on my glass boat.
Just bought both. It’s a no brainer. Hope you got a couple pennys!
Man thanks for the trailer steps idea. Order the 2 pieces and they will be here Monday. Thanks again
No problem!! Its the best thing Ive ever done to my trailer!
What's up my friend. Just put on the spare tire bracket and step. Thanks for saving me hundreds of dollars. And it's looks good
This looks great. Thinking of adding a step on my boat trailer. 2002 Javelin 18ft. How far up from the top of the trailer tongue is the step? And how far from the side of the tongue is the step? Thanks.
Thanks for sharing this idea. I have placed an order for the materials. Looking forward to getting it installed.
Very very innovative! Keep catching them on tight lines!
Your idea is awesome. Any ideas for a two stepper.
I just ordered the bracket and step. Thanks I sure need it I'm only 5'5 and older
Awesome man!! It works great
Can you pleae tell me how you mounted your spare tire to your trailer? I really like that. Thanks. Great video's to, sir!
Ordered and can’t wait to put this on
Bro, I want to thank you for this idea. I just added one to my trailer
Awesome man. Glad I could help!
Thank You for the info. I really enjoy watching your videos and learn more techniques and ideas. Thank You Again!!!
Thanks- perfect for my deep v Lowe
Thanks for posting this. Picking up a new Tracker Pro 170 this week and will be getting one of these setups as well!
What did you end up doing for a step on your Tracker TrailStar trailer? I mounted only the step on the winch post of mine a couple of years ago but it’s not ideal. I’m also looking for an economical flat step (or ramp) for the top of the tongue to walk on.
Great way to get it done, I created something similar, but not as good as what you came up with. Thanks for the info!
I use the FlexStep Pro Adjustable Trailer Step but I think I like that one better.
I looked at that one before doing this and it looks like a nice step but I just wanted a little more platform to step on
What a great idea Many Thanks I needed this so bad
Fantastic thank you I was having trouble and this is exactly what I needed should I thought of it myself good job
That's awesome. I'm do that on mine. Thanks for sharing
That idea is money !

Nice set up. I found yr channel doing research on a tournament I had at Gaston. I got another on kerr lake this weekend, can u give me any tips? Thanks n keep em coming
What a great idea !!!
That’s an awesome idea. Thank you. I have only one question what size coo foot pad did you order for your step? I haven’t received my step in the mail yet, so I haven’t been able to measure. Just wanted to order that pad.
You can go on the Cool Foot website and order sheets of it on there. Or you can go on Amazon and order sheets of Hydroturf also
Very nice! Thank you for sharing!
Does the step come with the hardware also?
I really appreciate your videos, you are a good teacher!
It does come with hardware however I had to get the 3/8" X 1 bolts to mount the step to the spare tire holder
Good idea
Nice job brother
Nice truck!
Thanks man👍
I'm a lot older so I had to add a handle to hang on to
Love the videos I want to start doing this in SC what cameras do you recommend thanks
I use my GoPro Hero 9 for almost everything!
What’s the padding called? Cool videos and nice truck. Just bought a white one.
It's called Cool Foot padding. It has 3M adhesive on the back side so it sticks right to the step
Love it
sweet!
What color rage bug are you using?
I'm not using one in this video lol. I use either blue craw or swampwater blue
Is it swamp blue?
Swampwater blue
