    Reactive Lymph Nodes - 0:00
    Malignant Lymph Nodes - 2:36
    Normal Cervical Lymph Nodes:
    - Shape and Size: Usually oval with a smooth, well-defined border. Measure less than 1 cm
    - Hypoechoic with echogenic central hilum
    - Vascularity: On Doppler imaging, normal lymph nodes show minimal vascularity, often with a single hilar vascular signal.
    Reactive Cervical Lymph Nodes:
    - May enlarge but usually do not exceed 2-3 cm in diameter.
    - Shape: They typically retain their oval shape with smooth borders, unlike the rounded shape often seen in malignant lymph nodes.
    - Echotexture: They have a homogeneous appearance with a preserved echogenic hilum, indicating their benign nature.
    - Vascularity: On Doppler ultrasound, reactive lymph nodes may show increased vascularity but it is usually centered at the hilum, which is a normal response to increased activity within the lymph node.
    Malignant Cervical Lymph Node:
    - Loss of central echogenic fatty hilum
    - Enlarged
    - Heterogeneous appearance
    - Become rounded or irregular in shape
    - Cystic necrosis: Ill-defined hypoechoic areas within lymph node
    - Peripheral vascularity

Sir I am going to complete my masters degree in Medical Imaging Technology in 2025 . But I am not able to acquire enough skill in ultrasound. Is there any way where I can learn and work at the same time. Waiting for your reply sir❤

Congratulations on achieving your Masters Degree! You can try going to Public Hospitals for training as they usually have high volume of different types of patients to sharpen your skills. Best Wishes!

Hi, can you please let me know what the below report of my Mom USG means and is there something that I have to worry about. My Doctor told me it could be infection or TB or other. and do FNAC test. The USG report says the following :
    1. There is evidence of multiple right supraclavicular and posterior triangle lymphnodes with distorted hilum.
    2. The largest is in the right posterior triangle and measures 39X28mm. It shows necrosis and septa within.
    3. Multiple small JD and supraclavicular lymphnodes noted on bothsides.
Thyorid gland, subandibular glands appear normal. Carotid and jugular vessels appear normal.
    Thank you.

Hello! I'm sorry to hear about this. The doctor might be recommending an FNAC test due to the enlarged lymph nodes, particularly the large one with abnormal findings, the doctor likely wants to investigate further. An FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology) test is a minimally invasive procedure where a thin needle is used to extract a small sample of cells from the lymph node. This sample is then examined under a microscope to determine the cause of the enlargement. The most common causes of enlarged lymph nodes is infection. TB can affect the lymph nodes. The FNAC will provide more details and make the diagnosis clear. Please follow up with your doctor for further management. Best Wishes!

Most Welcome! Reactive lymph nodes do not cause cancer in the future. They usually occur due to infections.
