- Welcome to the first upload on a new channel... Birdy 39!
I'm an Englishman living in the Shikoku Islands of Japan and have recently bought this 1985 U11 Nissan Bluebird.
Named after the car, this channel is for documenting the ownership experience of the car and it will also be an opportunity for me share a little about what its like to live out here in Japan.
In this first upload I show you around the car and give my initial thoughts about it.

Hey, i have a 1987 Bluebird Turbo Ca18et SGX (The pinacle of the bluebird saga and made in Japan) Nice to see your car.
Looks like a 1.6 litre.
Most of the ones sold new in NZ were the 2 litre, and they were fairly grunty for their time - I had the previous model, (910 RWD) wagon - travelled 380,000 km before the rust got to it. The roof actually broke off. Loved that car), ans always intended to replace it with a U11 wagon. Couldn't find one without a noisy 5 speed box, so it never happened.
I also had an imported 910 turbo 1.8 saloon, but it had been crashed, and was basically impossible to straighten it properly - it had stared to fold up into a slight v-shape just at the front pillars. Only a smidge, but it had pushed the transmission back as well.
Went for parts.
Bummer.
Nice mate..... Been a long time since I've seen a twin spark bluebird! Those used to be really common in New Zealand (where I live)
Back when Nissan’s quality was top tier.
This car is super reliable and these car's are galvanised body.
Barely see them around New Zealand :,,,( I want this to be my first car
cool car, I have a 1987 T72 Bluebird
one of the new "LIKE" mentallity cant speak without say "LIKE" every few words, hate it hate them
Tq..nice car.. I've one..i need rear light right side.. greetings from Malaysia
Im suprised how difficult it is to find parts for the car!
I drove a Nissan 1984 for may be 5 years
How was it? Reliable? Cheap to run? My car needs some jobs doing but so far its been very good
You are not a car guy if you take anything off the bluebird once you do this you have destroyed a classic gem. Leave the car as is, if you can't sell it to someone who knows what to do with such a good car.
Currently on cut coil springs with matt black paint over all the chrome parts
toyotta whats that east end try-a-like oh i am starting to talk like him init
woter whats that!
