I love that he brought up feeling worried about people perceiving you as complicit or somehow involved that causes stalking. I’m a woman and I was stalked by a woman who was a complete stranger, but I never talked about it to anyone because it made me feel like I was involved in some sort of drama or I would be viewed as though I’m trouble, which couldn’t be further from the truth and I was purely a victim of someone unwell. But he hits the nose on this one, being stalked is extremely complex.

Yes, this applies to other forms of bullying and intimidation or trouble generally as well.. especially as perpetrators are incredibly convincing, usually because they really believe their own propaganda. Sometimes it’s best to just exit the situation as quickly as possible and only discuss it with a very trustworthy friend or a good therapist. There’s so much victim blaming out there, you can end up exacerbating your trauma otherwise.
That being said, the unburdening of going public might be very healing and also help others to learn. I’m impressed with Gadd’s bravery, by going public he has brought the conversation of mental health and all these related issues right to the forefront. I’m glad people are talking about it.

“Personality disorders are behaviours when the desperate person is trying to cope - usually with a major loss - they are usually not aware of how frightening it is to the other person. Lot of psychotherapy required after they get a bit awareness of what they are doing. No pill for this. It’s an emotional problem.

I'm surprised you have not done a pod on the Huyton Mafia developments. This seems a massive story especially with the press restrictions which is very unusual
