@@tomatogeek1614 there's no way the dude could fail when he had Steve Harvey backing him. Steve most likely pushed a bunch of clients his way even after ending clientele with haircut bro. Obviously they were real tight with each other. So I 100% believe it was because of connections.

@@Obviouse As long as you can afford it, yes
@@Tessuroh you’ve got to be in the position to do that though. And you can’t get into that position without lots of hard work. Not “just cutting hair”
@@kolotoure3995 agreed but Steve was saying "all he do is cut hair" as in that's all he does now, currently. Aside from speaking to people on how to chase dreams that's pretty much all James does.
There is no greater friendship between 2 men than barber and customer
This is an example of play smarter not harder.
The definition of “it takes money to make money” if it wasn’t for the handouts, chances are he probably wouldn’t have gone that far.
Yea. I’m not sure how this is “motivational”
“I’m rich as fuck so I gave this guy I like a shit ton of money, look at the business he made with it”
Sure, but it was because of the value he provided steve harvey throughout the years.
And the fact he was Steve Harvey’s barber. If you do any service for someone popular or famous ( especially a celebrity or athlete) people will pay you more for your services. Think about all the women that can braid hair, but if she braided for a rapper or singer her prices would go up and people would pay because of that. But plenty of women could be twice as good, but people won’t be so easy to pay the same price.
@@truelyyours2861 facts. It’s all about credibility. You don’t trust a new barber the first time but if he’s good enough for steve harvey, surely he’s at least decent? Or at least that’s what the perception is. His barber just networked well and remained loyal. Steve harvey probably meets 1000 people a year, not all of them are able to provide value and stick around and out of those who are, not all of them would be even able to make something happen involving him in the short term.

If Steve Harvey were just some schmuck, the barber would never have made as far as he did.
The guy got incredibly lucky to have been picked up by a celebrity and was able to charge/was paid exorbitant amounts of money for $10 haircuts.
He was then given a (I would imagine) sizable chunk of cash, and was able to market himself as “Steve Harvey’s barber.”
It’s like Salt Bae. His food is, reportedly, very meh. But he can get away with charging stupid amounts of money because he’s “the guy from TikTok.”
People will pay ridiculous amounts of money for subpar or average products/services if the product/service in question has a famous name attached to it.

Well it's the experience you're paying for. The amt time they put into learning to be a barber. Same goes for any craft.
My moms a cosmetologist which is cutting hair and doing other stuff she owns her own salon and she says it is not an easy job. Most people who go to cosmetology school quit because it’s really hard.
