About The Killers:
The Killers are a Las Vegas-based four-piece who formed in 2003, featuring the talents of singer/keyboardist Brandon Flowers, drummer Ronnie Vanucci, guitarist Dave Keuning and bassist Mark Stoermer. The band has received countless accolades for their artistic achievement, including multiple Grammy nominations, American Music Award nominations, MTV Video Music Awards, NME Awards and more.Their first album, Hot Fuss, was released in 2004 to worldwide acclaim. The album contained the singles “Mr. Brightside” and “Somebody Told Me,” in addition to the anthemic song “All These Things That I’ve Done,” which has since been referenced by the likes of U2 and Coldplay. The band toured for two years straight behind Hot Fuss, playing more than four-hundred shows, and eventually returned to Vegas to begin to work on the follow-up album with legendary producers Alan Moulder and Flood. The result, a love letter of sorts to their hometown entitled Sam’s Town, was released in 2006 and spent forty-two weeks on the Billboard Top 200.A b-sides collection entitled Sawdust was released in 2007, followed by their third studio album, Day & Age, which was released to widespread critical praise in 2008, anchored by massive single “Human.”The Killers released Battle Bornin September 2012, which saw them expanding their world tour into countries they’ve never visited before, and finally were honored to perform at the world-renowned Wembley Arena, one of the most monumental and significant shows of their career. After a decade of making music, in November 2013, The Killers released a “Best Of” collection, Direct Hits, which featured two incredible new songs alongside classics from the band’s revered catalogue. The band, who have sold over twenty-five million albums worldwide, and headlined all of the world’s top festivals (Coachella, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury), released their newest studio album, Wonderful Wonderful, in September 2017, where it landed at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart the week of its release, as well a stopping the charts in the U.K. and Australia. The album is the band’s fifth consecutive number one in the U.K., and Brandon Flowers’ seventh U.K. number one overall.

This song is seriously underrated.
A underrated 8.5 millions views song.
@@luisrivera9638 Which is where the real gems are.
I agree
No. It is not. At all. Quit calling work that isn’t main stream released underrated.
Don't let Chrissy Gerwitz hear you say that!
My favourite Killers song.
Deadly underrated compared to their other stuff.
RCLeahcar one of my favourite songs ever
RCLeahcar ikr
I'm not a fan of the Killers, so sort me out, please. I remember their clip "Mister Brightside" where the vocalist was an emo boy with a squeaky voice. Is this the same vocalist as in this video?
@@janedoe12 Yes. Brandon Flowers didn't really come into his musical persona until Sam's Town. It has further refined as the albums have come out, typically reflecting the maturity of age (and a clean shave).
RCLeahcar well strictly speaking it’s a Lou Reed song
Been on repeat for last 13 years.
Same here. One of my favourite killers songs - so moody and atmospheric
The finale between Reed and Flowers is insanely great!
It's awesome!

Lou Reed and The Killers.. It doesn't get any fucking better.
Lou Reed and Metallica...... jk
Lou Reed and Bowie..
I remember when I was about 7 I was so obsessed with this song XD I printed of all the lyrics and stuck them on my wall then created a dance routine for it. I was a strange 7 year old
Bryony Ross thats whats up
Sounds like some shit I did when I was a kid 😂
No you were awesome, around that time most 7 year olds were trying to crank dat soldier.
haha yo he hecho cosas peores
@Bry OMG dude you rock!! use to do stuff like that too when I was a kid...hell I still do it now!
R.I.P. Lou Reed, the legend.
Lou Reed is arguably one of the most remarkable poets of our time. This collaboration is utterly amazing, and I only wish I commented on this months ago.
"Was it love, or was it just easy?"
Lou Reed's solo in the end of song makes me cry...
Li Zhao me too.
gets me everytime....
Hate to burst your bubble but Brandon Flowers sings that part
FYI - I found this out about "Tranquilize" on Wikipedia ...
"The music video features Lou Reed and was released on the 29 October 2007 in the UK."
"The video features Flowers wandering around an empty house. Somewhere in the house is Lou Reed, sitting at a piano. Flowers sings the song, including Reed's parts, making it look like he has been possessed. Intercut with this are shots of the rest of the band in a darkly lit, red room, around a table, apparently performing a seance. The video ends with Flowers finding and pointing at Reed, singing his outro."

Easily the best song by the Killers - and one of my favourite songs of all time.
From the almost eerie intro, through the purposefully frantic build up to the chorus, and then culminating in the relatively calm but powerful lyrics by Reed - this song oozes (an oxymoronically) subtle epic-ness.
Years on from first hearing it, I'm still loving it.
That first pre-chorus 1:20-1:34 is easily one of my favourite musical *things* ever.
That last bit, fucking brilliant.
Lou Reed with the Killers was beautiful, especially hearing this after his death.R.I.P. Lou Reed.
Perfect song for Lou Reed when you remember his parents treated him to Electro-Shock treatments to make him more normal...
Thankfully, they didn't work...
Perfect Day...
Thanks for the share,
2klime
this is just musical genius.. RIP lou reed
the ending gets me every time
Anyone else love how ominous the bass intro was?
Can't even begin to explain the impact The Killers have had on me. I started listening to them when I was 11 years old, saw then in concert for the first time when I was 16, and now I'm 20 and still don't go a day without listening to one of their songs. Such a talented, unique, simply class act band they are. For some reason this song has been one of my favorites since it was released. Hauntingly beautiful song.
i know thats it's mean, i'm 20 years old, and this songs are my life 😍
None of the 20 year olds who work for me even know who the killers are.
Hope this comment is still true six years later!
It's because this is LOU FUCKING REED! The greatest of the greats!
Did you know they are a Christian band?
When I was a kid, I listened to this song all the time, and I thought that all of Lou's parts were sung by Brandon - I figured he was making his voice more intense or something (this was obviously before I discovered the Velvets...funnily enough Lou is a huge inspiration of mine now). Now that I'm older, I can really appreciate what a great collaboration this is. Brandon and Lou really complemented each other perfectly.
RIP LOU.
+violet bowie dude, i thought the same thing until Just now... and i listen to VU
What parts are sung by Lou? Do you know?
What parts are sung by Lou? I honestly can't tell
Michael Brown the deep old man ones
Im pretty sure like the last 20 seconds are lou
Over 10 years since first hearing this song and the lyrics remain to be some of the most powerful I've ever heard. So much pain and and so much tragedy for what is the human condition.
This was a reasonably big hit in the UK when released, it is bloody brilliant! Don't understand why so many people, that I know, from the US dont know it! What a shame that these incredibley talented artists, working together, are not recognised for this amaziing tune in their own country.
The song is just brilliant, the music video is even better, Lou is simply amazing AND the only thing I still don't understand after all these years of listening to it is how the hell on earth Brandon freaking Flowers came up with it, this is so not like the usual Killers routine! Honestly, one of the weirdest collaborations yet also one of the best! Bravo
Lou Reed sure was a genius.RIP
Amazing song. Lou's presence and voice make It a classic. We miss you so much Lou.
Lou Reed and The Killers is just the ultimate combination.
The contrast in vocals is excellent. Lou sounds like an elderly, smoky Flowers. Incredible. May he rest in peace.
Maybe the best Killers song ever. This stuff is SO strong.
The part with Lou reed at the end makes me cry every time
Thank god for the Killers (BEST BAND)
I always though this song is such an underrated masterpiece.... still think even after 10 years it's a masterpiece and I will forever, just love it, this song gives me some feelings that no other song can it's simply amazing 🙌
I have loved this song for so many years, I knew it back in 2012. A few months ago I was on a plane on the Copa line to Chile and I was surprised to see this song WITH THIS SAME VIDEO on the plane's music list, like 8 hours in loop, love it so much
Lou Reed changed the face of rock and roll. He will never be forgotten.
Listening in 2023, will still be listening for decades to come. What a song to close-off of their finest era 2004-2007.
Lou Reed's approval....all they need.
I can't stop listening to this song!
I by no means am A Killers fan, but I absolutely love this song.
RIP Lou, what an icon.
the mix of Lous masculine voice mixed with Brandons ever so slightly feminine voice makes this an amazing video/song
Tranquilize for over a year and counting 😔
Thanks The Killers ❤️
everyone here saying this is underrated compared to they're other songs,,,, I was thinking this was one of their major hits... I can't wait to listen the rest of the discography
So good... Lou Reed is one of the best rockers ever
This is the most underrated song that i´ve never heard by them, and generaly of all the music, wtf is wrong with you people??, is such a great, great song
The best band in the world.
Not so much
One of them, agreed.
@@Blugharm It was an opinion. Everybody has one, and my opinion is that you're a tool.
@@ChubbRubbins ha, tool is a good band too
Mi canción favorita de the killers , tiene algo especial.Tiene algo especial difícil de explicar.
A twisted song nourished by dark thoughts. I love this.
“It always bothers me to see people writing ‘RIP’ when a person dies. It just feels so insincere and like a cop-out. To me, ‘RIP’ is the microwave dinner of posthumous honors.”
- Lou Reed
esta cancion tiene uno de los mejores cierres de tema que he escuchado, por la melodia, la letra, y la presencia no solo de Brandon sino de la leyenda Lou Reed, gracias por compartir esto
This is an entire new music genre expressed in one song.
I keep coming back for the chorus. Well one of them.
I got this feeling that they're gonna break down the door,
I got this feeling that they're gonna come back for more.
See- I was thinking that I lost my mind,
but it's been getting to me all this time.
Don't stop draggin me dooooooown !
to me its one of the best music of all times and just 6 million people have watched this? this is so sad...
excatly, especially because I watched it about one million times ...
I cried so much. Good night and travel well, Lou. Still miss you RIP
RIP Lou Reed
❤️ Sou apaixonada por essa música! Até hj!
The song that led me to The Killers. I was totally amazed. Even though now I have listened every single of their songs, this probably remains my favourite. How it got left out of their album at first remains mystery to me.
It's nice to stand here today and see what The Killers has achieved already. Who they played with.
Won't take long and new bands will be featuring they as they featured Lou Reed, for instance.
Hi everyone I just would like to say it was very special how the killers got the great Lou Reed on this song what a lost but a very great musician .
This just might be the best Killers song, for some reason the line " we could have gone sailing" tickles my spine. Also, Lou Reed blended with TK surprisingly well.
Please, Killers, don't go downhill in your music quality like everyone else. Stay artsy please!
The Upside-down ice-cream cone still amazing like always..killers ♥
Dirt sledding
Uh oh, should I tell him
@@joefernandez1759 dont treat tyson vs douglas and run for cover like that
@@joefernandez1759 nah, their newest album is pretty good
I will never not love Brandon's respect for Lou, and Lou just has this wry expression. So glad they were able to collaborate.
The type of lyrics that Inspire my own writing.
I totally forgot that they made a music video on this song. Great song just like all of their other songs. :)
Would have loved to hear Johnny Cash cover this.
That voice would have been legendary
Oh god I'm tearing up thinking of it
Yes!!!
Agreed, would've definitely fit right in.
“We could’ve gone sailing”........ that line gets to me.
I could make the obvious comparisons here but won't because I LOVE IT, I love what your doing here Brandon. Lou's a bonus for sure.
My tonight's lullaby song... it possess strange slumbering effects
This song moves me deeply♥️ Lou Reed's voice tells a lot. A great collaboration, a great song. I loved it from the first time I heard it💙
Lou Reed + Brandon Flowers = Brilliant!
As vocalists, they are both so unique. And I feel weird in saying it, but I'm impressed by Brandon's range. His voice is deep and masculine in some songs but he can soften it and hit high notes at the drop of a hat (in other words, it seems effortless the way he does it)
This song never gets old, It's always my go too when I'm up drinking..
excelente, simplemente excelente, mis respetos al gran tipo y gran talento de Lou Reed.
My good taste in music brought me here! :3
This! :) :)
Karla Steele same!!!
This :)
One of their best songs!
that's a treasure
Everything they have done is great, but this one tops them all. It's just brilliant.
Caray, hace tanto que no escuchaba esta canción... ¡golpe directo a los sentimientos! (Justo lo que necesitaba, yeah).
Me paso lo mismo hoy!!
The First Band I knew when I was age 4 I still love this band til this day
Unbelieveable masterpiece.
Great song. Lou Reed is a great artist, and The Killers are extremely best when they aren't being too poppy (like this perfectly exemplifies).
One of my favorites! Excelent song
Lou Reed is the best!
And it don’t stop dragging me down...
:p that mustache is so badass
Why isn't people totally crazy about how amazing and epic this song is?? It has been my number 1 most played song on my iPod/phone/whatever since 2009 and I don't even like The Killers.
I don't know what it is about it, it's just amazing.
Lou adds something special to it :)
@@JJFrostMusic Agreed. Lou is 100% behind that moaning bass line that cuts through you, and doubtlessly inspired much of the lyrics. It's as much a tribute to him as it is a collaborative work by him, and is a marked departure from The Killers' (and the rest of modern pop-rock) style.
Brandon going up an octave when Lou is descending notes while they're singing the duet harmonies is also a mesmerizing effect and utilizes is voice in an entirely different way than usual for his songs.
Absolutely fantastic song miles above anything else The Killers have ever done. The ending part tears me up every time :')
The killers and Brandon arent a future legend they are already a living legend
Because each 'like' shows mutual appreciation for the lyrics. It might not be 'creative' enough for some people, but you can ignore it. It made me appreciate the lyrics more.
One of the best killers songs
They got to do a song with Lou Reed how fucking awesome is that dude !
Lou Reed's voice owns.
for valentine's day, i hope someone sends me a bouquet of brandon flowers
Like everyone else said in the past, underrated. Their voices together are like magic.
Simply a classic!
Wooaahhhhhhh how did not realize this was a Lou Reed collab???
Woooow...perfect song
The killers just love them
This was my ringtone back in 2007. Still love it.
Sawdust is a great album. This is a great song to blast and speak along.
This would would play a shit ton when me and my now husband would drive out to his family in Dallas, like 3 days out at the time. This is his account too, lol hi josh
This is still a bop
#LouReed sounds like he could be Brandon Flowers' father ( TT ~ TT ) So beautiful
yes , people , with legends like lou reed , the artists have todo duets!
The best Killers video so far
