One of the best, yet unheard songs by Lisa! This song is from side B of Lisa Fischer's single, How Can I Ease the Pain. It's also on the deluxe version of the So Intense CD.
She comes from an era where the singers had to have the talent, but they also studied their craft. This wasn’t about popularity they were real artists doing what they had a passion for and it resulted in amazing music like this song and everything else she’s done!!! She is one of my favorite singers!!! I saw an interview that talked about how back in the day we invested in an artist and not just a single and this was well put by Montel Jordan. I swear I can’t get past the artists of the 90’s and anything before that.. if the artists put out new music I’m on it but everyone else has to really capture me and my attention because I know how the music industry has discarded our greats only to replace them with performers who have no depth, substance, or artistry!!
Can we please not ignore a fact that’s very significant. Significant in that it’s second only to the talent Lisa was born with; all her early training was as a classical mezzo soprano. If you know anything about the voice training mezzo sopranos go through you’ll hear it in her voice. Others who know nothing of this discipline will prattle on about ‘whistle tone’ and ‘head voice’ never hearing the very foundations of her astonishing skills.
@@dissilymordentroge5818 Your quite mistaken. If you listen to her interviews, she states that she first sang in her church choir. This is what gives her vocals SOUL. The classical training came later. Lisa Fischer attended a performing arts high school and 2 semesters at Queens College. Her time at Queens was short because she had to earn a living. Her foundations are SOUL/R&B/Gospel not her training as a Mezzo Soprano, give credit where its due.
ABSOLUTELY one of the very best. I just wish she'd done a few of these songs in concert. She only performed "How can I Ease the Pain". Of course she was flawless.
She still is if avant gaurde jazz is your thing. For reasons nobody can fathom thought Lisa Fischer’s best work is only available on often inferior, amateur CZcams clips. Why she hasn’t produced a CD/DVD/download for the thousands of fans who would happily pay for them is a real mystery.
From 2:31 to 2:50 is so damn smooth man. That climax is most definitely a CLIMAX! Some young man knew what he was doin’ lol. I wish we had somebody who can sang the fuck down like Lisa, while still maintaining incomparable control and technique. They don’t make them like this anymore!!!!
Child I have to high five you on that!! Cuz you ain’t never lied!!! It’s crazy because i own the original cd but didn’t have the maxi single where this was the b-side for how can I ease the pain!! I just discovered this song about two weeks ago s s can’t stop playing it!!! She gave it everything and sang like she’d never sing again!!!
I never heard this song I like it. 😊
There will never be another Lisa Fischer! A "Class Artist!"
