hope you’ve all had a great week ?!
we’ve had a brilliant one - after the most phenomenal show at Kew The Music, london we went on to the iconic Montreux Jazz Festival in switzerland where we were lucky enough to share the stage with The Lumineers (such a good band !!!)
then last night we were in beautiful northern spain at Cap Roig Festival… three very different gigs but each of them incredible in their own way :-)
a massive thanks to everyone that came along xxx
i also wanted to share one final sunday night video with you….
this is one of my all time favourite songs and in my eyes a total masterpiece . for this reason its a song i thought i would never cover as its one of the “untouchables” …. but i did …. sorry …. i hope i haven’t ruined it !!
its a slightly different approach to the previous cover songs ….
firstly , its just me and guitar this time as i felt like the lyrics and melody required as much space as possible . the video is also super simple . its just ariel footage of the lake district in northern england . i think with a song as perfect as this simplicity is the key ….

I appreciate I'm not probably your target audience, but your version of this classic is the best I've heard. It resonates with me as my soul has been broken since losing my legs and now living my life in a wheelchair, I lost all the "good years" the run around enjoy yourself years. I have been so close to the edge..... even now. So, as I said it speaks to me... and with your voice.. Awesome.

I feel your pain through your words. You seem to have a love for music as myself. I have let anxiety ruin my life. I will not go to doctors or dentists...or I should say I would not...now I need teeth pulled and to get dentures and smile, laugh and sing....I pray to God that he will find a way. I fear shaming loved ones because of my mouth...I was so dumb. Praying joy & love for you friend...You deserve to love, laugh, and realize with out legs you are still YOU....and I know this about my teeth. God bless you

I'm in my senior year at school and we're learning about Vincent Van Gogh in Studio Arts. His life was so interesting, the way he would find beauty in his sorrow and make it art. I went to an exhibition with many of his artworks and I broke down in the gallery. My teacher had to comfort me. I am always going to remember and be inspired by what he created and his unusual mind. What a strangely wonderful man. 💖

I heard this song for the first time when I was about 14, 15 or so (about twelve years ago now) and it's been one of my favorite songs since, not the kind that I listen to every day. It's like a dear friend that I don't need to see or hear from for a every day but when I do it's like no time passed at all. Now and then I listen to it and it's like time stops for just a moment. Great cover.

Few days ago I got into my dream univercity on history of art. Vincent have been my favourite artist since I was in primary school
and my teacher gave me reproduction of his oil painting.Then I forgot about it. In last class of high school I felt that the history of art is my biggest passion.
When I listen to this song I feel like everything that happend in my life have got some weird sense and nothing happens without a reason.

Thank you for making a cover of this, Mike. It has always been the song that calms my shaky hands on sleepless nights filled with canned coffee. And on other dark days I listen to your music over and over again until the stories in your lyrics stick in my mind like a vivid painful memory. Now when the dark days come again I'll be able to listen to this song and your voice at the same time.
