  • Welcome to the Little Barnyard Preschool! Located in northern Minnesota, this preschool is part of a nationwide movement. Forest schools and nature-based learning programs are popping up all across the country! At the Little Barnyard Preschool children learn in nature rather than sit in an isolated classroom. Experiential learning is prioritized rather than structured lessons and textbooks. Kids here spend time with animals, take hikes in the woods, and create their own toys from simple natural items around them. The tots are taught healthy life habits, how to form meaningful relationships, and a deeper connection to earth and other species. The kids are allowed to learn at their own pace and study the topics that interest them the most, creating more independent, creative and critically thinking children! Share this video if you think we need more nature-based schools!
