    What a powerful sermon. But it's a shame only a few are listening to it in this modern era of technology as the words of salvation are proclaimed loudly. May the blessings be upon the this young priest and all who had listened and received the message.

    What a wonderful homily and given in a powerful way. I think only Catholics grasp this meaning of suffering. I need to hear this to fully understand and accept..I have been reminded once again and I thank God for this today.

    Wonderful homily father, after hearing two homilies from your fathers of mercy which are mostly about the present crisis of our catholic Church due to sex scandals , I am delighted to hear your precise teaching on sufferings.
    Father Joel was in an accusative mood against holy father and father Carvalho also failed to support our Holy Father. I was distraught to see such animosity to Holy Father from American catholic clergy and praying for the suffering Pope Francis in this days of disrespect and hatred towards him.
    As you rightly said the sufferings are necessary for anybody to feel the pain of suffering Jesus in the guise of a poor and abandoned human being. Father you talked about the persecution as one form of suffering , yes , now the persecution is coming in the form of poverty , homelessness, refusal of right wages and using humans for making profit or to say espousing the capitalistic way of life. All the resources, like, employment, land, housing, quality education, medical care and justice that are needed to give a dignified life to a poor family is held by the elite and those who do not fit in to that clan of powerful, rich and corrupt are made to suffer. God allows one to suffer in the hands of these people so that one will always seek God and cling to God like a branch with it's vine. Also God gives time to the evildoers to mend their ways, as a last chance , by showing the poor Lazarus at their door step and asking the rich people to help him out of poverty and misery by sharing his excessive wealth.
    Alas , nobody listens ,as our Holy father said in his homily at Palermo on 15 the SEP. that the devil enters through the pocket and anaesthetise one with selfishness. Sufferings of Jesus and sufferings of vast majority of humanity are one and the same and the Clarion call to all , both rich and poor is to extend our loving hands to our neighbours who are suffering with even little than our little Possessions.
    God bless you Father , be supportive of our holy Father who is against this capitalistic world and polluting culture.
    By supporting our holy father you may have to suffer nowadays in America, but it is worth to suffer because we are supporting the suffering humanity and becomes a part of the suffering mass and enter into the mystery Christ's redemptive suffering.

    i find it interesting to hear that you think of your religion and values as the “middle ground”… when in fact, your religion is quite extreme

  • @JohnSmith-jh6gu
    @JohnSmith-jh6gu Před 3 lety

    punishment or suffering sometimes causes bad people to become good people so it does serve a redeeming purpose. the pain is the medicine. its about breaking the will in opposition to God. the in god we trust on our money doesnt say which god. Purgatory (in Roman Catholic doctrine) a place or state of suffering inhabited by the souls of sinners who are expiating or letting go of their sins before going to heaven.

    Father Jewel, a G.P.A. tells you how seriously a student has composed a letter of suffering, don't you agree? And is a G.P.A. a fidelity test in the little things done for love? For LOVE says the little details tell you there is a record of fidelity. And when children are recognized not because of the G.P.A. but because of her constancy, the G.P.A. says a lot, don't you agree. And if this journey permits a moment when the G.P.A. was never the reason :) you will know. The Game stands tall during the newness of the appearance that becomes of greater glory for the constancy and not the G.P.A.

    Actually there would be no resurrection without the Tomb and death. The cross was just a tree stump. The cross speaks of dying to the world and self. That is why the scriptures say 'I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth in me, and the life that I now live, I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.' Galatians ch. 2 v 20.
    This is all achieved by Faith and not by works of the flesh. We must take up 'our own cross' by faith and follow Christ. He has finished the work of redemption on our behalf. Trust Him.
