No matter how consumer friendly it gets, its still at the end is just a cash grab. The deluxe edition is a cash grab, the ultiamte edition is a cash grab, the cosmetic items in the store are all cash grabs. Set the game at 50 or 60 bucks, sell 2 million copies and enjoy the 100M revenue. If the game dev cost was 50M than you made a lot of money and you may have funding for an expansion. If your game is very good especialy as the lack of microtansaction would be a huge marketing boost, it would sell 5 million copies, then you have funding to contionue the development for years to come. Unless your game is Free to play, any kind of microtransaction is just a cash grab, and I for one refuse to support that kind of monetization.
I mean yeah if we talk diablo 4 sure. This game is entirely different as it is completely cosmetic and just to support the devs more while being reasonably priced. All content in the game is unlocked at the base 35$ Cash grab would be blizzard selling the WoW invincible mount in diablo 4 for 70$ or whatever it was. THAT is a cash grab. Diablo 4 even considering selling an expansion for 100$ is a cash grab. choosing to support a dev because you like them is not a cash grab but because you want more good quality content from them. Blizzard is just greed. Last epoch is actually putting that money back into the game. Will take 35$ for a full game any day over 100$ and battle pass boost with early access.
@@kickedfromcampaign If the devs need more support they can sell the soundtrack or sell titles, or set up a patreon or a kickstarter. Or work hard, make an expansion (with ample content, not just 2 maps and 3 skins taht barely constitutes as a DLC) and sell that. I will not support the kind of monetization that puts the majority of the players in a position where they feel inferior (cosmetically or otherwise) to other players due to monetary differences. We cannot justify the business model by saying its not so bad. That is a very subjective term and it started with a horse mount and we all said "its not so bad". Thats why we have diablo4 and diablo immortal and thats we have shitty AAA games with battle passes and infinite cash shops. If we do not make a stand with zero tolerance it will never go away. Some may be milder than others but they are all bad.
I got the ultimate pack as well, and I am impressed with it. The cosmetics are done very well so far imo PS if you do pick up a supporter pack, please consider going through my nexus store! www.nexus.gg/idodmg/last-epoch
While I think the deluxe and ultimate editions are completely worth the money, the supporter packs in-game have a long way to go. I may be spoiled by POE (which this seems to mirror in the way of the packs). If there are 4 tiers of supporter packs and you buy the top one, you get the cosmetics from the top one down (as well as the points, so if you were to buy $60 in points, you should just buy the pack that gave you the cosmetics as well), not just that one pack's items. With the cash shop points being the same for each pack in Last Epoch, the value isn't quite there. With that being said, I don't know what the PoE shop looked like when it was first released and if the value was what it is now. I'll keep my fingers crossed that the shop improves over time but don't see myself spending too much outside of the initial Ultimate edition upgrade.

I definitely think so. Anything to support the folks at EHG is worth it imo. Last Epoch is a great game and the more financial support they get the better it becomes.

I don't like the fact that you buy the game and then have a shoved cash shop in your face with fomo items. I don't understand why they didn't go f2p if they wanted to have a cash shop.
Shoved in your face? I have literally never seen an in-game pop up or anything related to the shop while playing. It is a cosmetic shop. No problem with that!

I already supported them by purchasing Early Access. The cash shop is nothing more than an greedy tactic on their part.
Its all skins. Legit nothing greedy about it. You want it to support further? Go for it. They don't shove it down your throat like d4 or PoE does.
