Well, if you look at how Thurston is playing, you would cut the song off too. Such a dick!! I am sad that they are broken up but don't blame Kim if she never plays in the same band as Thurston. I wouldn't play in the same band with any of my exboyfriends. He should have thought of the consequences before he cheated on her. Kim is better off without him. His new girlfriend totally deserves this asshole. May they both cheat on each other and know how it feels to be cheated on with the pain they inflicted on Kim.
I’m here after listening to this part of the audiobook. Kim was always the spine of that band in my eyes. If anything, I’m suprised he waited as long as he did to shit on Kim. I always got weird Peter Pan vibes from thurston
The bass sounds out of tune in some spots. The song is B F# E B E (G, E) (discordant) and the melody. Other than that this song is fucking awesome. One of my favorite early Sonic Youth tracks. Bad Moon Rising is one big noise opus. I like it better than Daydream Nation.
izzythepusher I know the song and I know about SY's alternative tunings, but it's obvious that something is actually out of tune. Listen at 1:27. Either that or someone's messing up.
Matt M If I'm not wrong this was the last concert from sy and I think that Kim couldn't care less, you can see she's angry and disappointed, looking forward to put an end to the show. The way she's playing brave men run with no passion or interest at all. In her position at the end I would have smashed that bass to Thurston's head!! That's punk!
Kim's vocals are even more painful during this live version, she was hugely upset with Thurston this day, she talks about it on her book.
I came here now directly after reading that chapter, and yes, I agree, it is indeed painful.
@@qpouvtmvoelxjtu458 What happened?
@@Sorrki thurston cheated on her and they went on tour without speaking to each other

O show foi dia 14/11/2011... Estava presente neste dia incrível
Thurston's ego on full display in this one.
Kim and thurston had broken up before this gig, it shows
one of the instruments is really off and this sounds nothing like the album version. don't know if this was on purpose. it's kind of cool
It's fitting.
Is this their last concert ?
One of the days of it I think.
Yes
Yep, Thurston gave off some giddy “finally free” vibes and Kim was really racked with heartache. She writes about it in her book.

I hate when men act unbothered by the damage they caused. *Here after reading the chapter
something is horribly out of tune
Nothing is out if tune. The song is composed in an alternate tuning (F#F#F#F#EB). tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/s/sonic_youth/brave_men_run_tab.htm

izzythepusher I'm pretty sure it's Kim's bass. Maybe she's using one with the wrong tuning or something.

Mark Ibold's bass is not even remotely in tune and this sounds goofy as fuck. owch.
