You have to understand that Ivory Coast did not develop overnight. The country development has started since the 60's to the 80's when the country enjoyed political stability under Houphouet Boigny who could implement his development plans over decades of economic boom. Ghana has not known the political stability that Ivory Coast have enjoyed from independence until the 90's. Ghana has witnessed several military coups and unstable governance since Nkrumah was removed from power in a that country first military coup. But Ghana is now politically stable and is now developing slowly but surely.

The country is rich, stylish and modern.
I didn't know West Africa could look like this. I mistakenly thought my father's homeland I visited was "it"! I know that's definitely not the case.
Lower population density makes for more comfortable and relaxed living. Single storey buildings by the water are nice. However, if you have to cater to the crush of people, you have no choice but to look at multi-storey buildings.

Ghana just lost its Akan people to Cote d'Ivoire due to colonization. 40% of the Cote d'Ivoire population are Akan. The Akans are builders, honest, and very principled people in West Africa. Not bashing other people. This Assinie city is just the continuation of Cape Coast in Cote d'Ivoire and is mostly populated by the Nzima people. By the way, Kwame Nkrumah was Nzima. In the 60s, Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire had their capital cities so close, Grand-Bassam and Cape Coast. As a Pan-Africanist, I always dream to see Ghana and Cote d'Ivoire re-united for the greatness of our West African region.
