Arko Mukhaerjee, one of the most unique vocalists to have hit the global music scene. Arko’s high tenor and a natural husk, is unique to sub-continental contemporary music. Formally trained in Indian classical music, Arko is equally versatile with Western and Indian folk songs, blues, soul and tribal music styles. He is also a popular playback singer having sung in several films, soaps and serials in Bengal and has been nominated for national music awards in India for some of his songs.
Over the past many years Arko has been researching on the roots of Indian folk music and it’s vast history, trying to build a bridge between European, African and American folk music with the essential root music forms of India.
কোলকাতার অর্ক মুখার্জী ছোট থেকে নর্থ ইন্ডিয়ান ক্লাসিক্যাল সংগীতের তালিম নিয়ে এসেছেন। পরবর্তীতে তিনি ইউরোপিয়ান, আফ্রিকান, মিডেল-ইস্টার্ন, আমেরিকান এবং ভারতীয় লোকসংগীতের উপর দক্ষতা অর্জন করেন। এছাড়াও অর্ক ব্লুস, আধ্যাত্মিক এবং বিভিন্ন ট্রাইবাল গানে রপ্ত করেছেন মুন্সিয়ানা। ইউরোপের বিভিন্ন কনসার্টে অর্ক মুখার্জী ১৫টিরও বেশি ভিন্ন ভাষায় গান করেছেন।
