Luckily, my joy cons are super sturdy attached. I am surprised you didn't notice earlier, since the joy cons make a loud click when attaching them self that you can feel as well. I would notice it immediately if they didn't do that.
Because I broke my joy cons so many times and I never new you could buy one separate I still have some good controllers so I just switched the one that did not work with a old one thank you for the information it is much appreciated!

Thanks for the heads up on making sure the joycons are secure. When I bought the Switch I the first accessory I got alongside it is a pro-controller coz I knew I'd be using it on docked mode most of the time. The joycons only get used on multiplayer games, just dance, and handheld.
The 8bitdo adapter is a great accessory to make other controllers, like DS4, useful for the Switch. Cheaper than getting another switch controller.

But I've been binging ring fit videos since I bought mine a couple days ago and because I play with a wired controller, I had no idea my right joy con didn't work whatsoever and now I'm waiting on Amazon to send out my new joy cons.
(my right ones only broken because my mom literally launched my switch and then either spilled something on it or idk. But the buttons were sticky and my drift got so bad that I just played with a wired controller anyways)
Thanks for sharing that story Susan! That's rough that it was the right one, you can technically play without the left one, but the right is a must have for the game.
If you're bringing Ring Fit content, just wanna give you a heads up that I actually do stream Ring Fit daily in the mornings, and invite you to follow along with the stream while your waiting for your new joycon. Next one is at 9:00am central standard time.

My right joystick also doesn't lock anymore so that sucks for me. Guess I'll have to wait.
That sounds scary. My right joy con has NEVER locked into my switch. From the first day I bought it I noticed I can slide it out without pressing the button. It stays in just fine for handheld mode so it was never a pressing issue for me. But I just ordered Ring Fit and wasn't even thinking about the locking mechanism WOW. thanks for uploading this PSA designed just for me 😅😅😅
ty for this! I have been looking into ring fit, which is probably why your video was suggested to me! I have the nice limited edition Animal Crossing Switch! and after seeing this I now know that before I buy such an expensive game Im going to be buying a special pair of joy cons to go with the game! Id rather bust ones I can buy in a store than my pretty pastel ones! Thanks again for the warning!
"Buy another pair of joy-cons" - or, your know, a roll of sellotape... 👍
Also, it's worth noting that to test if a joy-con's lock is broken, you must try to slide it out of the switch or the grip holder - testing with the joy-con strap attachments is POINTLESS as these are designed so that you can slide them off WITHOUT unlocking the joy-cons (whether the joy-con lock is fine or not).

I bought another pair of joy cons right with ring fit - but because of a totally different reason. 😄
All I know is that when it comes to the Joy Con, they are not Nintendo's best controller. They may be compact and have a lot of tech in it, but that does not mean it's their best controllers and shouldn't be bought at full price
Yeah you are definitely right but i think that when it comes to gaming, the winner is the most fun, and i think that joy cons, even tough flawed, are one of the best controllers from nintendo ( also look at the success of the wii controller )
@@julienmauguin3214 I mean I would agree if it wasn't for the drifting anolog stick, the small buttons (imo), and the very weak plastic hinges on the back of the joy con, they would be the best but the pro controller really is their best controller

3:06 oh i see. an alternative (that is cheaper but voids the warranty) is to fit your joycons with metal stoppers wich i should probably do now that i think about it. i doubt the warranty lasted more than 3 years.
