B.Com or B.Tech is fine... as long as you can learn technologies and demonstrate you can implement you should be fine. There could be jobs asking for a technical degree but not all.
What about the competition with Limited openings. Influencers are like simply hyping this profession. over Hyped, Over Crowded and also thinking that in 90 days they can become DA.

Time that you spend on Excel, use that to gain proficiency in Power BI. There is nothing that Excel does, that Power BI or Tableau can't. It is about smart use of your time!

Statistics is not that heavy for a Data Analyst, but there is certainly some knowledge needed. Tools like Power BI, Tableau help you learn these.
