    I loved this video! Happy (late) Anniversary 🎉 What a fun and gorgeous way to celebrate ❤
    Gotta love the rain! It was rain that convinced me it's time to move from my SUV/tent set up to a Hiker. Just a few more weeks until my factory tour in Indiana 😊

    Great video. It's fun to follow you two. Sorry Wendy for your heartburn. I can't eat most dehydrated meals for that reason. PEAK has some really good meals. Thanks for taking us along. Love your awning.

    Really love your videos! I’ve gotten so many great ideas for my custom Hiker camper, many of which I’ve incorporated into my build. Actually heading out tomorrow to the Western slope here in Colorado for a week to work on some more improvements to her. Adding a custom-fab toolbox to the tongue, running power from the hitch to the Jackery in the galley to keep it topped-off while driving, and some other cosmetic improvements.
    At any rate, just wanted to thank you for sharing your experiences, and looking forward to more!

    That was Southwest Disk for the Skottle challenge. Better buy and you can use it (disk) anywhere.

    could be wrong but those e bikes have been known to explode. not sure if they have figured out the same issues people had with the first autos. steam exploding and such.

    I put a zip lock bag over our water pump, and poke the spout out. Keeps rain out of the electronics and still easy to see/push the button!

    Don’t give in to urge to spend your money on a Skottle. A wok and stove will work the same.

    I really want to get rid of the rigid pipe regulator for my Everest. My stove is on a slide-out, and I have to connect/remove the regulator every use.

    Nice video. Enjoy seeing the moose. Early September I drove up to Nova Scotia thru New Brunswick. Really nice drive. Sunny the whole time. Glad I lucked out. The places you went are beautiful. Rain goes with camping sometimes. I take it in stride, do things like what you guys did. BTW for occasional heard burn / acid reflux. Drinking a small cup of water with a teaspoon of baking soda can help. Thanks

    Don't get a skottle. Upgrade your stove to a Cook Partner Stove. They don't fail cuz they don't have that part!

      I have been trying to get Wendy to buy a Cook Partner stove for some time now but the cost has held her back compared to the Camp Chef or other brands. Is it worth the extra money? Maybe I will reach out to Cook partner to review one. I hear there are a lot of good skottle-like discs on the market. The first one we tried was just to heavy the fire disc.

      @@MWDAdventures My wife and I think it's worth it. As a lifetime camper and backpacker that shifted to a trailer, we bit the bullet and went for the upgrade and have never look back. I bought the 22 in 3+ years ago for $350 and now they're over $500. Knowing what I know about the stove, I would do it again at $500. I only mentioned it because you were thinking about buying a skottle which is crazy expensive for what itreally is and it's heavy. We make rice on it (Cook Partner) no problem and for us that's the test of simmering! Getting the Cook Partner stove is a buy once, cry once proposition.

      @brulew976 Před 11 měsíci

      @@MWDAdventures also, I highly doubt that they will have you review one because demand is through the roof evidenced by the dramatic increase in price and them being back-ordered frequently

    Matt I had the same issue with my Camp Chef stove in 2022. I replaced mine with a flexibly hose with regulator on it. So far so good. Not a fan of the Skottle. $435 is just way too much money. I can buy a Webber Q and a Camp Chef stove for less than the cost of a Skottle and have way more cooking options.

    • @Imgone2024
      @Imgone2024 Před 11 měsíci

      I agree about that Skottle. Too much money, too much to carry. Of course, cooking is not a big priority for me, while camping either.

      I have a Skottle that I bought a couple years ago when they were cheaper. Sits in my basement if anyone in the Northeast is looking to buy one. I'm not a great cook and just use a camp stove.

  • @retnav92

    What size weight are you using for your "rain gutter" rig? We had a 6 hr downpour during a weekend campout a month ago. I was using bungee cords on the awning loops, with folded camp chairs on the lower part of the bungee. Far from fancy, but worked for that particular event.
    🤔 Now I'm wondering if the gas hook-up device on my really old 2-burner Coleman stove will work as a backup for my Camp Chef stove. Gonna have to check that out now.

    • @MWDAdventures
      @MWDAdventures  Před 11 měsíci

      The weight was fairly heavy but was to worried about getting hit in the head with the weight in the night. I don't know what ounce weight it was but know looking at other options.
