I highly doubt that the dress will stay up on your torso if you cut it apart! All you’ll have left to keep it up will be the elastic waist. The top fabric is much too oversized and slippery to stay up on its own.
As someone who use to make most of her clothes, I totally agree. Plus, I think the top fabric will open too much and give a side boob moment.

You might consider taking the plisse dress to a tailor before cutting out the inner dress just in case it does affect the structure.

I would definitely wear the cargo pencil skirt with the first short sleeve knit. Love the contrast between a softer look with army inspired pieces. Just like you suggested with the silky top. Love the mentality of buying better buying less. It just have made me so much more happy about dressing in the morning

I enjoy seeing hauls full of fun colorful things when sad beige minimalism is everywhere and I'd love to see you style your new clothes with what you already have! Free People and Sezane are both expensive, but they always have interesting well made pieces; I think I save up to buy from those stores a lot more often than I save for luxury items.

I try to not buy dry clean only pieces overall. And also to not overclean them, if they are not dirty they are not going in the washer :)
