I’m a pole vaulter I’ve seen tons of breaks and never anyone being impaled because of the way it is bent and is breaking away from them. It’s not impossible but most I’ve ever seen were scratches.
I imagine this is very very unlikely, i feel like the pole would have to be facing upwards while you fall on it straight down which in most cases you wont be falling onto the pole because it will have already moved in a certain direction so it wont be straifht under you
You shouldn't be as worried of getting impaled by a pole, than landing from like 4m on hard ground in case you weren't fast enough. At best you'll fuck up your ankles. To be honest now that I think about it... some of the spots you see in the Olympics are terrifying! They are relying on a thin pole to bend just right without breaking to propel them up into the sky over another thin pole several feet from the ground.😱❤
I tried pole vaulting one season back in high school in the early ‘70’s. At one meet one of our better vaulters had his pole snap just before he reached peak height of around 13’. He came straight back down into the box and snapped a collar bone. I will never forget that sound…

That's gotta fuck you up when it breaks on you like that That next attempt has gotta be such a obstacle for the mind to overcome
That's what would happen if I tried to pole vault. They don't make them for big dudes.
If it break early like in the first clip then not really, its about as much of a "wat?" when you are suddenly on you back.. like a "violent slip".. when if breaks half way up then yeah that can.. thats like 3-4 meter up and no soft matress underneath if unlucky.
@@m84winzi I think they meant mentally not physically
And wow she made a record too. Maybe it fueled her
@@yyg4632 Yes!
Just saying the way Angelica came back smiling with such sweetness after broking the pole is just priceless actually. She seems to be so kind❤
We still need to stay focused guys. We still need to stay focused...
Y'all fuckin ruin everything. Someone does an amazing feat of athleticism that they train for years and years to accomplish and you pull this shit.
Wdym?
Weirdo
@@k00lmeezje it’s a thing about beauty! You probably wouldn’t know so yeah go on
social reject
Didn’t even mention she loaned the pole from a competitor
Wow awesome natural talented people who don't get the recognition they deserve. I salute them all, thank you all for entertaining us ❤️
It's so crazy how it looks like they'll never make it but then two seconds later you like oh they made it! 😁 Their bodies are goals btw too! Let me go join the Olympics real quick ☺️😄
I’d be scared to land on the pole 😂
She's gorgeous! That was tuff, physically and mentally. Well done.👏👏
Every individual failure give’s us a lesson to wake up again an give it back 🫶🏻
She is so good and I’m glad that she didn’t give up❤️❤️❤️
"Went to find a new pole" 😂😂😂
I can’t help but to think about how cool Eiji looked to Ash when he jumped over that fence :’) I can’t ever look at vaulting the same again
Eiji in Olympics when?
Wait . When did that happen
She has a beautiful smile 😃
Wow !! She shook it off. Fearless. You go girl.❤
That last dudes upper body strength got him way higher up there
Glad that she is allowed to get another pole for her over line. I 👏👏 to you and you made it over smoothly the pole line. That is so amazing!!
Stay focused boys stay focused

Angelica is so pretty though. She's amazing. You can tell she's nice by her smile.
That smile is amazing motivation
I used to do something like this as a kid to get across the creak.
Then I saw bridge to terabethia and was traumatized lmao. My grandma put it on for me and didn’t know the ending. I was shook
I can't get over how smooth the last guy did it. He just slid right over and laid down in time to catch it too.
Look at her smile 🥺 Unbelievable
It is without doubt the most exciting and thrill seeking athletic event that requires a heart of strength and determination ❤
