How many of you guys are using or thinking of using DSLR/mirrorless camera setups? Maybe a dedicated video on real cameras in the future?
I would like the video Do make one. There are many streamers who buy the camera's cam link but don't set them correctly... a quick youtube search and they will find ur video!
yes, I cclemonz, famous twitch streamer use a $1500 mirrorless camera. please help.
Def would love one I'm using one now and going to try some of these tips with the LUTs. Keep up the amazing work your vids have been super helpful.
I use a Sony A6400 with elgato cam link 4K... Nice video mate! Thanks
I have a sony NEX-3 i thought about using
Youre the man bro!
Oh hell ya, good seeing you here.
Thanks for the great walkthrough! I've watched several videos that talked about the theory or specific equipment or settings, but none of them made me feel like I really understood how to do it myself. By hearing your reason for choosing the things you did, seeing everything take shape step by step, and seeing exactly how to do it, I feel much more confident about being able to start my own setup. Thanks!
Hey I just wanted to say that I really just started watching two videos from you and I decided to subscribe because (1) you seem to be original, you are not copying anyone's style, which I appreciate, and (2) because your content is very helpful and entertaining. So thank you for making these videos.
Color correction is getting all the colors to an accurate state. Color grading is then adding the specific style.
He DID say he wasn't a professional, so that's good enough of a get -out clause for me.
LMAO "Streaming inside of a hospital" -that made me sub
It was bang on. So good!
Me too HAHAHA so gooood
Ah, me too! Subscribed

Super informative video! Thanks!
Nutty, I gotta say, since I've started dabbling in the streaming of my Zwift running/cycling sessions, your videos have been a terrific help and very informative! Also like the humor you inject here and there....makes for an interesting watch. Thanks for putting these videos together along with the very helpful links to products/resources!
This has taught me so much--you are the man, Nutty! TYSM!

Dude I come across your videos by accident, just amazing you give the entire information and straight to the point. Thanks for the help you have a new suscriber :)
This is so helpful! I'll need to play around with my lighting and apply a LUT for my webcam footage. Thanks for the great video.
Great vid buddy. Massive help for a frustrating issue.
Your advice has been tremendous!
Just found your channel and love all your tutorials. I do YT reactions, not streaming, but a lot of these apply to recording as well. You're a great teacher and hella funny. Keep up the great job!
Love your vids! Keep em coming!
Solid as tutorial and blended with sweet sarcasm. Exactly what I needed. You're the first person I've seen who showed me how to make LUTs and even though it might have seemed like a hack job version, it made 100% sense. Loved it!
Thank you so much for this!
Endless amazing stuff from this man, also great to watch
That LUT segment was *chef's kiss* perfect. Exactly what I needed to turn my grainy, yellow old 720p webcam into a better version of itself. 10/10 would recommend, high marks on Yelp.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO! This is one of those treasure videos on CZcams that is so PRO yet so simple. Your channel rocks!
Thank u so much sir!
Hey! I'm a freelance gaffer (set lighting technician) and just wanted to chime in with my perspective. Its an unfortunately common mistake to place a fill light on the opposite side of the key light. The problem is that you create double shadows. Every light casts its own shadows and when the lights are coming from opposite directions those shadows will cross and look quite unnatural. It also produces double catchlights in the eyes which can look weird. Additionally, using small LED panels this without softening them tends to not look very flattering. Using a softbox or some diffusion gel on a roll or even a white t shirt placed in front of the light to spread it out will give a much softer graduation from highlight to shadow. If you make your key light large enough and positioned correctly, you usually don't have to use add a fill light. In fact I frequently will take light AWAY from the fill side with "negative fill"
Which is basically just any black material to absorb light. I have a couple examples on my channel showing this principle if you want to check them out :)
Everything you say is true, although I don't know much about lighting, but you have to admit that the change he makes with just those few things, is way better looking than the before shot, considering...
For some reason editing my comment didn't want to work, so I'll ask about those examples you mentioned in this comment instead... Would be nice to see a more "show" video, versus this "tell" video... Also, I know 1 or 2 guys in CZcams don't use any lights at all because the back of their desks and shelves have RGB strips on them, plus a little rgb behind them on a few nanoleaf pieces, and I was wondering if something like that could be used effectively, either standalone, or with studio lights or whatever you would use, to perhaps save on costs a bit but still have good camera visuals???
@@northwiebesick7136 sure, it definitely looks better than before, but I think it could easily look even 10x better with some small adjustments like I mentioned.
Regarding your question about not using lights in favor of RGB strips....definitely wouldn’t recommend that. Lights in the background simply aren’t coming from the proper direction to light up the face, and certainly not in a flattering way, unless you want to be completely silhouetted. And even if they did reach your face, you DEFINITELY wouldn’t want harsh cheap saturated RGB lights lighting you up. It would look terrible. Tungsten/incandescent lights are very inexpensive and by their nature are so much more color accurate than cheap LED panels. An Arri 650w open face can be had for under $150. Bounce it into a white wall or ceiling or piece of white foam core from an arts and crafts store and you’ll have a beautiful soft key light and no need for a fill.
Question, what lighting to use when you have a green screen behind your chair. Probably less than 2 feet from my chair. I see bad shadows and the green background when I use OBS or Xsplitcam. Any suggestions?
@@elainaamoranto9626 the best thing you can do for yourself is get more distance between the subject and the green screen. The closer you are to the background, the more defined the shadows will be and the more green light will spill onto the subject, making the keying process that much more difficult. Ideally, you want enough space so that you can light the green completely separately from the subject to ensure a consistent, even spread of light.
Good video! Made my cam look way better. I followed along and this is still great in 2023!
Best video ever! I'm a University professor in Brazil and your guide made my videos look much more professional! Thanks a lot!

A viewer on my stream recommended this video because I use a Razer Kiyo and it looked blurry and kind of faded. I love this video. Thank you so much for creating it. I did download the DaVinci Resolve and this is a brand new world. I created my first LUT because of you. Thanks so much!!!!!!!

This tutorial is a pot of gold! Thank you
Great video brother ! Really nice , I have watched it all , very informative!
Love your videos man. Thanks so much for all of the shared knowledge and even the way you write your titles. 10/10
I've personally never put the fill light on the same side as the key light, but it's a really interesting idea and I do see the effect you're going for. It works. Great video
Good Stuff! Thanks!
Key light is the brightest. By making your "fill" brighter, it becomes the key. -- a camera nerd
Was just commenting this haha
@@WickN as was I haha! I definitely had a nerdy laugh come on when I heard that haha.
@@_MJ07_ yeah add me too
us camera nerds all came down to the comments to write the same thing. Thanks fellow camera nerds
