    A Great Episode, Thank You Robert, i appreciate it a lot!
    Now i'm playing one of my my US "Double Trouble" Vinyls:
    On the left upper Corner of the Album Cover: printed "Formerly available as LSP-3787" plus a white Sticker with "AFL-1 2564"
    On the right upper Corner of the Album Cover: printed "RCA APL1-2564 STEREO"
    Label: Black RCA (Block lettering) "APL1-2564"
    Sleeve: marked on one side at the left bottom side: "21-112-1 PT.54F Printed in U.S.A"
    Well, it must be very difficult to find out the correct US RCA Catalogue Number back in those days😉

    Perhaps when making that poster, they rushed it and mistakenly listed something like Double Trouble as AFL1 when it was actually APL1.
    Just a theory.

    • @kingelvis1956
      @kingelvis1956 Před měsícem

      That is a possibility. Harum Scarum, Spinout and Double Trouble were never actually pressed as AFL1’s. The closest that they came to that was having the white (or sometimes clear) wrap-around spine sticker with the AFL1 prefix printed upon that. Let’s just say that the renumbering of Elvis’s catalog was “in the works” at the time of the printing of that large poster. Owning “true” AFL1 copies of “It Happened at the World’s Fair”, “Clambake” and even “Girls! Girls! Girls!” is something that I am quite proud to have accomplished!

    I believe the SER means Stereo Electronic Reprocessing, not Second Reissue.

    • @patrickmoore7506
      @patrickmoore7506 Před rokem +2

      A second reissue would be designated as "RE2". For example, when "Elvis Is Back" was reissued in 1968/69, there is a "RE2" in the lower left corner of the cover. When it was reissued as AFL1-2231 in 1978, it was up to "RE4".

      @@patrickmoore7506I’ve never seen RE4. 😮

    • @patrickmoore7506
      @patrickmoore7506 Před rokem +1

      @@FrankieLovesElvis The "RE4" designation was only on AFL1 pressings of "Elvis is Back".

    great show as always. Question about rigid and non-flexible vinyl. What's the difference? I see some vinyl listed as rigid, non-flex and flexible. I understand the flexible, but what's the difference between non-flex and rigid?

  • @robbiedetroitstigermanviny8883

    czcams.com/video/iyQVGhXQTic/video.html Robert, here's a clip of Elvis in Chicago on 10/15/76. Don't know if you saw this show or the tour opener the night before...

    Just found quite a few AFL1s in my collection. Is ANL or APL the more common variants?

    • @kingelvis1956
      @kingelvis1956 Před měsícem +1

      The APL1 as well as the ANL1 albums are far more common than the AFL1 reissues

  • @baq8680
    @baq8680 Před rokem

    But Robert who's to say those (AFL1) were numbers that were designated for those albums but never used?

    • @kingelvis1956
      @kingelvis1956 Před měsícem

      That was EXACTLY the case! Harum Scarum, Double Trouble and Spinout were never actually produced as AFL1 printed on the cover or on the record’s labels. They only got the white (or sometimes clear) wrap-around AFL1 wrap-around sticker to the upper left corner.
