As a firefighter I call this a job security train
Why
That guy gets paid to spray water lol
That's a very easy job
Yeah, a 8 or 10 hour day of that in 35 degree weather... loads of fun.
Its called a fire righter
he missed a spot
It's boring tho
I knew I shouldn't have left that penny on the tracks.
It's like one of those parades where they throw free candy to the crowd only here it's free fire!
1:08 The train started a fire!
It starts a lot of fires. Hence the people on the back spraying water.
SRD Gaming
(cough)had to piont this out um roblox is gay.
Travis Whigham LMAO
Travis Whigham no it's not a holl
How many points is that grind worth on Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2?
It's a moving fireworks show.
Adam Ohm the train fireworks show!
Lol that would be cool and silly but dangerous at the very same time. COOL PART: Fireworks.
SILLY PART: Train.
DANGEROUS PART: Fire.
How to start a forest fire
I guess that's why they have the caboose with a guy spraying water on to the tracks

You mean might be why CA has wild fires shure laph laphs except I'm not
Hell hath no fury like this locomotive!
All aboard the Polar Express 😂
Sparks fly
its like electricity
i might die
And how CA wild fire is started
And yo it grinded so hard I can barely hear the smoothest tracks
These go by my house every few years. Usually a fire truck follows as the brush has caught fire so bad a few times the sprayer couldn't keep up.
That was one of the coolest things from a train I've ever seen.
Nahhh... just polishing the tracks... all in days works....
Awesome. I remember seeing something like this when I was a child (65 years ago). But I didn’t know what it was.
I have only seen this once, in the daytime and it was something I’ll never forget. The sparks were very impressive in broad daylight. Honestly seemed just as impressive as this video but the video probably doesn’t capture everything you see. This is the only rail grinder video I have seen that had sparks flying out like what I witnessed. Thanks for sharing.
Pretty cool you got too see that! Thanks for posting.
Loram's rail grinders, especially these older consists, always remind me of Mad Max.
That's pretty lit if you ask me 😂👌💯
Looks like a alien train, I wonder how much power that engine has
That’s a one big spark coming out the Machine
They a lot of fiery hot sparks
Rail grinders are kind of the rarest trains around where i live in North Carolina, North America.
At first I thought it was some sort of car derailment, but this is so much cooler.
Quality! Nice way to burn the Rails out
They should do that on a hot, dry, sunny summer day. (Not!)
It doesn't matter what day they do it on.
@@chaoticboi2257 Ehh. well.. yes it does. In a hot dry summer day you will have massive fires along the track.
@@Xanthopteryx literally dozens of people made this specific locomotive with failsafes in case of a fire so no it doesn't. I'm a train enthusiast so I know what I'm talking about.
@@chaoticboi2257 One spark can set of a fire ten minutes later. That is the problem, and we have seen it here in Sweden that a train set of a fire just by sparks from the brakes. If it is VERY dry, then almost nothing can trigger it.
@@Xanthopteryxwell Sweden and usa are very different. Not trying to sound like a prick or anything it's just the truth.
I've never seen a rail grinder before. 👍Nice video. That sunset! 😘Thanks.
Jinx: It's all bout that G r i n d.
WTF EVEN CAUSES A RAIL GRINDER!?!?!
i've seen this rail grinder in the dead of night, with only it's lights showing and it does look like a ghost train or a demonic train one lol
Well that was indeed fun to watch!
Freaking awesome. They one seen did this and laid stone down. Factory on rails
This train temporarily parks in the Mission Yard when not in use (Mission B.C. Canada)
That train can kill you
i remember when doing a video of mow equipment with an underside shot of each machines that one of the machines a git an underside shot of was a LORAM rs 1012 rail grinder it was really cool to get that shot of its underside
Wait til this monster hits 88MPH...You'll some serious fires.
train route for hell
I’ve ran my share of bench grinders and I know the smell of grinding metal. I can only imagine the smell as that animal rolled by. I have never seen such a thing.
It looks like this train is supposed to shine the rails
It looks like a death train from hell
What a light show!
They failed to put out the small fire near the tree roots! That's why entire forests are wiped out as a result.
...unless the train rides near/through a dense forest on a hot summer day! Let the cast iron brake shoes hit the wheels and you'll have the same result as striking and tossing the good ol' strike-anywhere-matches.
So are your groundless harassments, which prove how poorly-endowed and wrong you really are.
A rail grinder gets all the rust of the track an makes it new again on the surface of the track n as the wheel of the train ride over at same time then gets water sprayed yep that's it
That was cool, never seen that b4
Its like some dude forgot to turn off the breaks!
The sky is on fire too. Great video!
have they ever considered installing sparkguards?..... because thats a perfect recipie for forestfires.....
Great catch
it looked like it was grinding a small amount off the rail
place looks beautiful...were is this...??
Jose Leshil probably a flat in America
Fairfield Pennsylvania, says in the description.
God damn I'm not ever seen like this fire train before
it this went through a forest I think it would start a fire. why do they do this
It's done to improve the rail, and bring it back into proper shape.
Big G OK. I live near a busy railline and iv never seen this done before.
+Quackerkats gaming network Almost always done at night, often goes unnoticed and is underappreciated. And some grinders can get 100 miles in a night so once it's gone it'll be at least a year till it's back.
+Big G so that's why. thanks
+Quackerkats gaming network no prob.
Is that a 50. on the end car roof!? Ik it ain't but it kind of lloks like it.
That's really cool!
looks like the train from hell
And that's how fires get started
That's a good way to start a fire
They have it under control though
Well here is your answer for all the forest fires.
I'm not ready to these videos, in Italian railways are bike paths.
Saw it yesterday at tashreau yard while on a exo train
spectacular
Get the fire train!
That train is so loud. Is it a diesel train? Did you get burnt by the sparks?
Is it diesel, steam, or electric? HMMMM, I THINK IT'S NOT DIESEL BECAUSE AMERICA TOTALLY DOESN'T USE DIESEL LOCOS!!!!! ......idiot
Im not familiar with railroads or traing. but even I know they are resurfacing.
how to start a forest fire 101
*OnLy YoU CaN pReVeNt FoReSt FiReS*
Damn bro that can burn somebody
I've never seen a train do this! What causes this?
Rail Grinder is a maintenance technique to smooth out irregularities on the surface of the rails... but I'm pretty sure they're supposed to be spraying water on the rails to suppress the sparks as it could lead to fire. Perhaps the water tanks ran out...
Thunderbolt aka. Joe Smith Oh. Thank You! :)
The grinding wheels.
Thunderbolt aka. Joe Smith It grinds the rail back to shape as the rail wears away over time
You can see the people on the back spraying the water.
This thing doesn't start fires?
Lol it left a fire
I think that's how they clean the tracks
Fremiboibigburdaslaya _ well, smoothen not clean

train grinder is when the train is too fast and then brakes real hard?
it isn't. a train grinder is mend to make the rail somehow. just like the ballest spreader from the rev. W awdry
it grinds the rails to smoothen them
Why are they grinding the tracks
To smooth out the surface of the rail. It's the same process done when you get a key made. The grind and buffer the surface for any metal shavings.
MarloSoBalJr : make sense
You should of had poured gasoline on the tracks before the train had arrived
Is the fire out!?!
yurapit88. Lol no.
nice
Is it supposed to do that
what is the purpose of these
OwenGamer905 a rail grinder is to smooth out the track surface and restore it to its original form removing imperfections and signs of wear from the track.
OwenGamer905. Smoothing out the rails is the whole purpose.
That much grinding cant be good right??
Crazy
What is actually Rail Grinding?
Mainak Roy Chowdhury a rail grinder is a train usually consisting of 1-2 locomotives, and 3-15 rail grinder/water cars. The trains are ran by LORAM™ The purpose of the rail grinders are too smooth the rails so that they are safe for trains to run on.
Heartland Railfans Thank you.
So it starts a trackside fire..... and local firefighters respond , at risk to their safety, and usually in hard to reach terrain....it ain’t ryt......
