Just replaced my crusher ice housing with the help of your video! Purchased the part from amazon. Price has since increased. Used same part number provided in the video. My fridge model number wasnt listed but fit perfectly. Had to trouble shoot after the first attempt, as the crush feature dispensed whole cubes. The metal arm that triggers the door open and closed needs to have some tension, positioned accurately for the mechanism in the back of the freezer to operate the opening and cloing of the door to crush ice. Under an hour to get the job done. Thanks so much for the help!

We give up, Justin. We followed the video you linked and followed instructions to the tee again. Everything looks right. When we tried it, the motor runs, and it acts like it’s going to crush the ice, and a few tiny pieces fall out, but then cubes come out. Thank you, though, for all your help.👍🏻
We decided to try one more thing - changing out the solenoid! Unfortunately, ice maker still not crushing the ice! Any other suggestions? Thank you. 🤷♀️
The same part broke on our ice maker, so I did the same repair. I’ve maker works better (no random ice dropping through chute) but I’m having difficulty getting crushed ice. In the crushed ice setting I still get cubed ice. Is there a calibration or something else I’m missing?

I ordered the part, and my husband followed your instructions to the tee. I know because I was holding my iPad as he was doing it. It did not work. Well, he did it about 5 more times, thinking he must have done something wrong the other times, but to no avail. My husband agrees that it is not hard to do,but we can’t figure out what he is doing wrong! All we keep getting is cubed ice! Any advice? Thanks.

Ok everbody That plastic part is breaking at the same place for everyone, and they will only sell the 2 piece front housing with flap which is now 45$ and up so I repaired the FLAP on mine believe it or not. Ok first thing pull the ice bin next put a pan to catch the ice or hit the switch on the left side and press " I " let the ice bin sit a bit so it wont crack, spread the ears so you can get the rest of the broken part out . I used clear Gorilla glue and the plastic that they have on those deli cakes at the grocery store and its the top piece that snaps on and its thin, I cut in to strips 3 on one side 2 on the other glued it and clamped it and its been a month here it gets used full time. I really didnt have the extra coins to buy that part . ok
Had a friend just now fix mine but after buying the crusher unit it is still making a horrible noise and not crushing the ice very good. What could be the problem?
Did you make sure the flap was moving back and forth correctly when you switch from crushed to cubed, and back to crushed? The metal arm that makes that move can be misaligned when putting it back together. Also, make sure you have the tray/crusher all the way back when putting it in the freezer. There's a flap in the back that can get in the way. You have to lift the flap up to get the ice tray/crusher all the way back. If all that is good, take it back apart and watch my video as you put it back together to make sure it's all correct.
Sounds like the plastic drum ogger isn't turning. It could be the platic nut is loose or broken. I recommend taking the ice hopper out, dump the ice, and see if there's any ice jaming it anywhere. Then see if the drum ogger assembly is tightly together with the main ogger. Also, the drum ogger blade can get worn out and then the main ogger will just spin inside the hole of the drum ogger blade instead of turning the drum ogger. I recently did an overhaul on my whole ogger assembly and I think it will help you see what can go bad: czcams.com/video/MbGorO8aFCE/video.html
So basically the housing becomes wrapped & the door doesn’t swivel! Right probably can be reused would be great you send it back & they reimburse you with $5 core fee I wish right 😂
Does water come out the front dispenser? There's a valve and regulator and maybe one of them isn't working right. Also, the ice machine has a plug in the back that could be loose or came unplugged.

There's a flap in the back that can get in the way. You have to lift the flap up to get the ice tray/crusher all the way back. If all that is good, take it back apart and watch my video as you put it back together to make sure it's all correct.
In fact, it makes that same noise yours does when you showed what it looks like when switching over without any ice. Help!

These ice crusher bins are cheaply made, and only last about a year if you're lucky. It's either the housing breaking or the teeth bending.

Ok did I miss something? So why does it stop crushing ice?
The plastic flap in the housing broke off inside the housing that switches it from cube to crush.
Did you watch the video? I know at the end I show the flap going back and forth.
