- Jesus is the Lord. Is He my Lord?
Saint Peter tells us to be prepared to give a reason for our hope. We need to be ready to give an explanation for the truth that Jesus is the source of hope. We also need to be ready to give a reason for our personal hope in Jesus.

So beautiful words of hope, and explanation of today's words, that is what many of us need , thank you Father Mike for being the messenger of God
The Holy Spirit will not leave once He is invited. He will also not come in unless He is invited. God does not abandon His. If you get crazy on Him He will punish you be sure of that. "His name taken in vane will not go unpunished" . I find that people who question the faith and even walk away from it eventually embrace it that it is a daily part of their life and the embrace is very strong. There are still internal arguments with God but the bond does not break.
Thank you and bless you Father Mike. My Lord Jesus is absolutely my hope every day. I can't bear the thought of life without Him, and without Him I would be a sad miserable soul. And I am so glad that He found me where I was. I was not raised as a Christian, never went to church, and the Lord found me and convinced me I was important enough to pester Him on a daily basis. There were many years I just always prayed for others whose problems were much bigger than mine. But, as you know, everyone is so precious to Him, everyone, and thank you Father for reminding us He, the Lord, is the source of all hope.

I cannot get to church.....After having a great church community in NJ....30+ yrs....I m a third order Carmelite for 20 yrs....I have a chronic illness but more than that, for reasons beyond my control, I now live in the coast of Ecuador. Not enough priests, the churches are closed, a few weeks ago, an off duty police officer and a. Innocent woman were killed inside a nearby church...people are afraid, even in churches!! The crime since the pandemic has made it the worse to the poin that it's the worse in Latin America. Pray for us Father....God Bless you!! Your mom in heaven....❤🌹🙏

Listening to this homily and not only listening to the words but how Fr Mike says them, his enthusiasm in proclaiming them, how excited he gets in explaining the Gospel reminded me today of Monsieur Vince Kirsche from Lawrence, KS who died yesterday, on the Feast Day of Our Lady of Fatima, 2023. He had a similar enthusiasm and excitement in his homilies, for Jesus and his deep Catholic faith. And for years he was as Fr Mike is, a priest in a college campus Catholic Center.

I’m Catholic and proud to be, but I will say look at the billions of people who believe in other major religions such as Buddhism, Hinduism, or Islam. Those are clearly not true, yet so many for hundreds/thousands of years have passed the beliefs down. Clearly humans are capable of believing false religions…This has somewhat made me struggle with the validity of some traditions within the Church…but God’s Grace is greater!

People probably wouldn't ask me if I'm Christian. I look like a Jesus gentile a mile away.
What about someone who has stayed Christian for years, doing their best to love God and be faithful but is bogged down by weaknesses and failure so much that it feels as though they have no hope. Asking for a friend

A true believer is baptized/indwelt and sealed with the Holy Spirit forever. The Holy Spirit gives eternal life to all true believers therefore a true believer cannot lose their salvation because it is a gift of GOD by His grace NOT through any process of works. A true believer belongs to GOD not to himself. Anyone can be baptized with water and NOT be a true believer. No one can be baptized by Christ with the Holy Spirit and NOT be a true believer. Why? Because the Holy Spirit gives a person spiritual life.

Objective Truth, I think, just works for people who believe in scripture but maybe not all of it. If you believe in scripture you have to believe that Jesus is God because it says it in there. It is then Objective. But if someone does not believe in scripture then Objective Truth doesn't exists for them. If they don't believe in scripture then 'Jesus is God' is also Subjective.

In my conversion; speaking to people; who are not Catholic: I had talked to several people; who had changed their mind about vocation; the same problem exists for other denominational seminaries.
