- Malcolm Mitchell Young (6 January 1953 - 18 November 2017) was an Australian musician who was the co-founder, rhythm guitarist, backing vocalist and songwriter of AC/DC. Except for a brief absence in 1988, he was with the band from its beginning in 1973 until retiring in 2014 due to health reasons. As a member of AC/DC, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

Malcolm was a great lead guitarist too.angus said he could do what he did but just wanted to be out of the limelight .so so missed.
Mal was a great guitarist and a nice guy as well.
It was sad seeing how bad his health was towards the end, . I do recall the first I meet him such a lovely man.

amazing and highly professional person miss mal he was behind acdc all along and the driving force of the band ❤
Malcolm is abosultely my favorite Young brother. Loved his rythym playing...it made every song rock so hard. Wish there was a way to listen to George Young...the brother that taught them guitar. He was named in the Dire Straits song 'Sultans of Swing'. It's been said...he knew all the chords.

Best Rock in band ever! And Brian had hard shoes to fill with Bon but found his own way.And after taking a great loss with Malcolm , they still put it back together with their last album. Thats the genius of AC/DC!!!
