country life is way under rated, its the country calender of the radio waves!
Love the video
Nice purchase.
Best of luck with the new bull. Great you got the one you want. Timperlea stud are doing a good job breeding good stock, lot 4 stood out in the video really like him.
Thanks, they really are good bulls
Great video Alastair and good luck with your new bull 👌☘️🇮🇪
Thanks for the updates 👍 all very interesting.
Thanks Peter
Another great vid, keep up the good work. You got some nice looking bulls too, great condition considering the winter you had to deal with.
Interesting
Have U looked into shorthorn cows we run a shorthorn stud up in the far north nz
Good on u bro stock is looking healthy and well fed plus only few left to calve
Thanks Mate.
Great Rundown on the Bull sale, Bulls are an interesting challenge so expensive and limited life and coverage compared to rams! As always quality drives the price!, thanks for another great Video!
Totally agree!
Thanks for another great video. Looks like a good bull that you got! Recently had 4 bulls (2×Hereford and 2×Tuli) dropped off here in South Africa... Same thing with good animals and low buyers happened here, probably due to a ban on livestock movement because of Foot and Mouth disease. Other than that things are quiet this side, wool stil worth about nothing but atleast it's selling, although slowly, now. Could use some rain as well, probably been about 5 or 6 months since our last good rains. Cheers!
Wow The foot and mouth must make things quite uncertain. Very much the same here re wool. Good luck with getting some rain.
Looks like a good value bull. We bought a bull today here in victoria and the starting price was $8k this year and most sold for around 14k. Makes my eyes water.
Talking about watery eyes...how about $240k for an Australian White ram at Tattykeel sale at Oberon, NSW on Wednesday!
Hey Alistair over here in Queensland records have been smashed during the last month. A Droughtmaster Bull sold for $220,000 and then last week a Charolais Bull went for $265,000 crazy hey. Check out Telpara Hills stud who are just down the road from us. They have just had there annual stud sale. They breed Brangus and Ultrablacks. They broke Australian record for a Brangus Bull. A 30 month bull sold for $150,000
Wow that's incredible prices. Sold to other studs ?
Jee that's a really nice bull. Should have been 10k off that pedigree considering Rainmaker son earlier this year made 92k. Yearling Bulls in the north island where I am are getting expensive for the good ebv Bulls.
Yep we are stoked.
Whoa, expensive bulls🇺🇸
Really enjoy your videos as always. Could you homekill the lame bull to put the quality meat to good use?
Thanks, we could but it wouldn't be the best meat.
Big bull
Well done on another great video. Was just wondering your last name do you come from south island or north island just my step mums maiden name was same as your and she there was to family's she comes from north family. Sorry for the random question
Hey our family are from canterbury originally, then went to the north island in the 70's.
Wow three seasons and they fall apart?? Either you need tougher bulls or your hills are quite severe!
Mating on our hills can be quite hard on the bigger older bulls.
What do you do with your empty heifers do try to mate again or are they off to the works
We will keep them for a bit then off to the works or saleyards.
Given most Angus bulls sales here in Australia would be reserved at $6k I think you get them cheap. I make this comment knowing nothing of what your end price is however
Our calves at weaning sell for around $850 so not as high as you guys.
Is there a 3 year warranty ?
Some studs will guarantee their bulls for 3 years
Are you not liking the idea of mince and sausages for the lame bull
Not really, would like to get some money for him. dont fancy 400 kg of mince
@@kiwifarmernz Ok his he to bad to go to the works with a vet certificate?
Trade Me could be an option you do see home kill animals listed on there
