Hey so I just learned this week that Andres Escobar technically didn't die due to the mistake in the world cup. He got into a fight with someone's bodyguard at a party and the guy was drunk and shot him. Still pretty horrible, but there wasn't any orders given to murder him after the mistake. Funny how history ran with that story instead. Look it up!

Brings back memories! I was a child during the 1990 World Cup - the first World Cup I can remember. And Higuita was one of the stars of that tournament because he would often stroll all the way up to the halfway line. It didn't work here. Crazy guy! 😄

@@Mario_N64 No se confundió, Perea le envío un balón fuerte y rebotando, René intenta controlar y poner la pelota abras de piso , cuando eso sucede ya Milla estaba encima de él y si hubiese intentado rechazar en vez de eludirlo, la pelota le hubiese rebotado a Milla. René intentó salir del problema en que lo metió Perea al hacerle esa absurda devolución y sobre todo teniendo a Milla tan cerca y estando Higuita muy lejos del arco.

The better decision was one touch pass back to Perea. But Higuita see that Milla read that pass and try to cheat Milla with moving to another side, this is all keepers loving trick - but Rene step on the ball and it was a fatal mistake. It looks much more epic than Escobar unwanted mistake in 1994.
Higuita got his hair pulled. That's why his head goes down. Blink and you will miss it. He's chasing Milla like he wanna kill him after that move. Pause 0:37 and you will see it... Those Germans need to bring out the 4k version...
I'm curious. Escobar was killed for his world cup blunder in 94' why didn't the same happen for Rene? This case Is arguably worse as Escobars mistake was an accident while this was just incompetence (I love Rene and all his flair and unique style please don't kill me)

He told me that the guys from Los Pepes mocked Andres, who was with a female friend, telling him that she would play that game much better than him. Such an insult was a trigger for Andres's immediate death.
