'The Black Cat' by Aaron Kenny was provided to us by way of the Music Audio Library. This wonderful old-school jazzy theme was the perfect fit for our alt-history crime noir audio drama.
    ----
Nights in Shanghai is an audio drama series exploring an alt-history world changed forever by German victory in the Great War. This series is based on the world of ‘Kaiserreich’, the world's most popular fan-built alt-history universe. In the world of Kaiserreich, Germany and her central Powers allies win the Great War, leading to the collapse of the British and French colonial empires. In their place, empires new and old have brokered a fragile balance of power in a China perpetually on the brink of war.
In Shanghai, the opium dens and gambling houses are always packed. Backroom deals and corruption run rampant. Key among the underground machinery of the so-called ‘Legation Cities’ are compradors: Free agents, fixers, and accomplices from various international backgrounds. The greatest among them is an American from parts unknown, a man known as Frank Duncan

We need more audio-dramas. That old format is ready for a comeback after the success of audio-books. It is funny how it turned out. Radio-dramas were consider old and obsolete (even though we had a bunch of actors, professional writers, sound effects...), and then audio-books, where usually one person reads the book, became a thing. And people started adding effects to those audio-books to make them more immersive, acting out characters in them... and all of a sudden, radio(audio)-dramas got invented once again.

The Chinese word in the picture “理揑ćș—” means hair salon, but the word “揑” is in chinese simplified, which is invented by OTL Chinese communist regime in 1955, in the past every chinese would be using traditional chinese characters (which is still being used in Hong Kong and Taiwan nowadays), so the chinese word “理揑ćș—” should actually be â€œç†é«źćș—” to fit in the timeline. It's a nice song though.

Literally the greatest soundtrack in ages just gives you a throwback feel and makes the world of Kaiserreich just seem that much more real. Perfect as always from the KKC team.

I'm imagining a black and white movie, a detective, sitting on his chair, legs crossed on the desk, smoking a pipe, girl walks in, says that a family member is missing

With this lore and soundtrack, I think kaiserreich would be a very successful game made in a style Arkane studios.

Question for y’all. I’m working on a fictional story taking place in an alternate world, and in that world syndicalism is a major political system. Can I use the hammer, torch, and gear symbol you guys created for it?

@@fyndrkraze The name I haven’t decided to make public yet, but pretty far. The world is pretty thoroughly built, enough for me to write the story of my book in it. Polities, cultures, religions, nations, histories, among other details have been well established. At this point, most of the world building I could do will likely just have to happen as my story progresses.
