- This year I made a plan to experience something I've seen on tv my whole life. The annual New Year's Day tradition is back in full swing with horses, marching bands and floats covered in natural materials. Come with me as I experience the Tournament of Roses Parade 2023 in Pasadena, California. Watch until the end to learn from my experience and mistakes as a first time parade goer!

Hi I would like to come to the rose parade this upcoming year but like you said if ever again, you would arrive early, park far-way and chose the seat closer to the floats. I want to know what time is early enough to arrive there? How far away u can park and the seat closer to the float is free of charge?
The parade starts at 8am Pacific Time, I'd definitely try to get there about 2 hours before it starts. There are areas along the parade where you can sit for free, those areas are farther along the 5 mile parade route than where I was sitting. Parking would also be cheaper the farther away from the Rose Bowl and Old Pasadena you get.

How much was the ticket to be at the bleachers?
When I bought mine a week before the parade, it was close to $100 per ticket. Plus $50 per car for reserved parking in Old Pasadena.

It was held on January 2, 2023 - it will be held on January 1 every year except when that date is a Sunday. "Never on Sunday..."
There is absolutely no reason in the world to see this in person! I went years ago and it was the most miserable experience ever.
Crowds, traffic porta-potties🚽....If you aren't in the bleachers you won't see much.
Watch it on TV and you will see much more and you won't be cold and hungry
