    It's a shame you don't make and sell these as kits for mini z's. Would make it so much easier to order one with yellow fogs lol. Especially for someone like me who is electronically disinclined.

      Trust me if it was that easy to help everyone out I would but like I've said in some other comments the amount of time it takes to make them plus the risk of some of the lights failing or breaking is very high so I don't want to be taking people's money and then them getting mad at me for something going wrong whether it's my fault or not then dealing with returns is just a can of worms I'm not trying to get into. I'm not one of those guys trying to make profit off of people and the amount I would have to charge for little lights made from some guy in a garage will be hard for some to justify lol so the best I could do is put a somewhat "how to" video out to get an idea on how I did it. Have more faith in yourself though, if I can do it you can too I'm nobody special I just watched a lot of youtube videos and learned a lot through trial and error. I make a lot of mistakes still to this day, it's all part of the "fun" in these hobbies. Sorry I'm not more helpful, I know how annoying doing this stuff can be.

      @AirToGroundRCFPV you are just fine. You make it look so easy I just had to give you a hard time. No need for you to be sorry at all.

    Nice mini Z collection 💯🏎️
    Do you know anything about upgrading to brushless motors?
    I’m just getting into drifting and I came across this video 🆒 🎦‼️

      Thanks man, they don't have any direct brushless motor upgrades for the MA-020 since the onboard electronics are for brushed only so you would have upgrade the main board to handle brushless, I've seen a few people do it but not a lot of information on how successful their mods really went. Otherwise Kyosho makes the MA-030 EVO which can handle brushless but they are far more expensive and only come with the chassis, you need to buy transmitter, body, wheels, etc. separately. I'm in the process of rebuilding and upgrading a WLToys K969 that I've had for awhile to brushless which is cheaper but a lot of DIY work and will be dropping vids of that build in the near future.

    Thanks so much for the video - very clear and helpful. I had a couple questions: how does one fit wide rear tires on a narrow ma020 body? Or is that simply the trick - get a wider body? Also, did you have trouble getting the wheels off your metal rims? I think it’s Abendor that makes them and they come with the Michelin logo graphic. Didn’t try the hot water trick yet. Wanted to ask around!

      @AirToGroundRCFPV  Před rokem +1

      you're welcome, I'm glad I could help you out. For the metal rims it wasn't too much harder than my plastic rims but some tires were harder to slide on than others and tore my fingers up constantly switching them out. There was one set I couldn't get on the metal rims but did fit on the plastic ones so I might need warm water for those.

      When it comes to the wide rear tires, I don't have that on my ma020 I can only run a narrow set up with the skyline body with a +1 offset for the wheels. On my mr03s however, I am running wide tires in the back with a +3 offset that most of my race bodies are with a wide front end as well. If you wanted to run wider on the ma020 you could try zero or negative offset wheels to fit deeper rims possibly.

    I’m in the market for a new radio. Did you have to change out the receivers on your mini-z to get the radio link to run it?

    • @AirToGroundRCFPV
      @AirToGroundRCFPV  Před 7 měsíci +1

      My MA-020 and one MR-03 I kept the stock electronics and radios, while my other MR-03 I built from the ground up with a Furitek Velos main board to run a brushless motor on 2s Lipos and added a RadioLink receiver to it and also rebuilt my WLToys K969 to run brushless and 2s as well but on a Furitek Momentum board and put a RadioLink receiver on that one too. If you want to keep your stock board on your Mini-Z, you could run an aftermarket radio but it needs to match the frequency on the Mini-z and most don't have that built in, but for some you can add a multi-protocol module to the aftermarket radio and then it could possibly bind to it. I haven't tried it yet but I think there are some videos out there of some that have

    Dude can I get a link to what model strips your using???

    • @AirToGroundRCFPV

      There are different sizes and kinds you should look at on their website but here's the basic 3mm strip - www.superlightingled.com/narrowest-3mm-led-strip-ws2812b-individually-addressable-328ft-60leds-p-4344.html
      and here's the wifi module -www.superlightingled.com/sp621e-mini-bluetooth-led-light-controller-p-4452.html
      I soldered them to the car so you'll have to figure that part out, I go over some of it in the video. Hope that helps

    Are you running a stock motor in general? I feel like mine could use a little extra kick (and I’m running Orion 9 and 1100 triple aaa’s)… (awd ma020 - many mods you’ve suggested I’ve ran so far)

    • @AirToGroundRCFPV
      @AirToGroundRCFPV  Před rokem +1

      Yeah stock for now but I'm going to put the V-speed motor in it as part of my stage 3 set up, as well as the counter steer mod. I just don't have the time at the moment unfortunately.

    • @thedreamingsupercade
      @thedreamingsupercade Před rokem +1

      Looking forward to it. The idea of attempting the counter steer mod stresses me out 😂

      @@thedreamingsupercade I meant X-Speed V motor and yea same here haha which is why i got a bunch of extra gears in case the first try doesn't go to plan
