Quick tip for the depths, if you get your hands on a skeleton horse you won't have to worry about the gloom on the floor. Those things can stand on it which allows you to explore underground much faster while riding one.
Ye lol did that but accidentally ran into master kogo with 4hearts
You can ride horses down there??
@@sefiryu Undead horses. You know, the ones I REALLY wanted to register in the first game.
Did that yesterday as well and it was soo easy.
@@insert_username-xv3df I did beat both Kogga 1 and Kogga 2 with 4 health
Austin John on the grind when a new game drops is my favorite era of Austin John
Well yes, but also botw had a big impact on his channel and it feels right for him to make a ton of videos on the sequel
agreed. He was awesome with s/v
legends arceus flashbacks
So good
Especially pokemon and Zelda. Always slaps
Pro tip: don't get confused as to what the fuse ability does. Not fully understanding it, I fused the claymore with my shield thinking, for whatever reason, it'd increase the durability. It, in fact, did not. Instead, I now have a shield with a giant ass rusty claymore point straight up. It's beautiful actually
Now just spam parry to destroy everything
I want to fuse gear with meat so I can beat enemies with my meat.
@@MusashiDamacy 😅😅😅
@portiac6097 made a goofy mistake, accidentally became a god. Honestly gonna see how long I can carry that bad boy into the game
I did the same thing lmaooo
it’s actually hard for me to comprehend how absolutely massive this game is. i’m 15 hours in and clearly have barely touched the surface.
they really blew this outta the water 🔥
Are we playing the same game? I’m 3 hours in and this is a $70 DLC running at 30fps wit the same powers “re booted” but less fun. Why am I glueing wood together and crafting RNG gum balls? They took the Zelda/ Link opening trailer scene and fleeced us all off that hype. Well done Nintendo. You’ve turned my childhood hero into a gimmick.
@@Amer1kop cry
@@Amer1kop Just keep playin and you'll like it. Also this ain't a DLC at this point, the Tears of the Kingdom is larger than Breath of the Wild both map wise and file wise (As well as content wise), it is most definitely a new game.
@@Amer1kop It's hard for me to take this criticism seriously when yall have games like God of War or most sequels that basically keep a lot of their stuff.
Damn if you do, damn if you don't. I don't know what you expected from a sequel.
@@phenomenonnarutokun a STORY. A STORY to add to the BOTW world would’ve been awesome considering all the hype w/ Link/ Zelda / demon king. They could’ve turned the whole world upside down and I would’ve been thrilled.
Note: if you have registered horses in Botw, any stable you go into in TOTK will have your horses. you just have to go through their dialogue and they will say they have your horses
No way
@@FlareUaot i didn’t believe it at first but I tested this out myself this morning so I can confirm it’s true
I even had epona and the big ganon horse in my stables along w thier stats and names so everything is there
@@BhrissyBiegan as soon as the switch is charged I'm trying it
@@BhrissyBiegan I had Zelda's horse and ganondorfs horse😊
Super quick tip for caves. Every cave has one magic frog inside, that drops the bubblegems. You will know that you got the frog for each cave if the cave shows a checkmark on it in the map
@@aceknight6622 those critters are used for making anti-slip elixirs. Easiest way to catch them is to just shot them with an arrow
@@lceBox wait you can catch them? I didn't know that, thank you
I read your comment first and I thought I would find a tiny cute frog and got scared when I found one of those "frogs" 😂
@@agv345 Thankfully they are big so you won't miss them that easily! But I mean, their harmless bubble attack is kinda cute😅
Or the fact that they are just blupee rabbits is cute 😁
Oh nice, I didnt know there was a checkmark. I was regretting not putting stamps beside the cave for an indicator that I got them. I thought of doing that too late that I wouldn't be able to mark the ones I have already got.
Just mentioning a little something that not many people seem to know about.
When playing Tears of the Kingdom, remember to play it on the same console where you played BotW.
The game reads if you have both save files and gives you some extra things. One of which being that any and all horses you had registered on BotW will appear on the stable once you are registered there.
And if you already had Epona, you can get a second one if you use the corresponding amiibo for the first time.
What other things carry over? I've only heard about the Horses but Nothing else.
Can you carry over anything else? If not that’s fine, but it would be cool if I could get the Champion weapons.
@@Tigery760 From what I've heard and seen, the only things that transfer are the horses mainly and the Champions' Photo from the DLC, which you can find in Link's house in Hateno.
Sadly that's all that seems to carry over.
Not sure why you would want a second Epona.
@@Moon_Presence It comes with scanning any Twilight Link Amiibo. So if you already had an Epona on the Stables, just don't register the second one
I’m in such a confusing spot. I love Austin and his content, but I also just kinda wanna experience all this Zelda stuff for myself. So I’m just letting the videos play in the other room to support you, but it’ll be a few weeks before I come watch any haha
That's where the "add to watch for later" comes in real handy
@@AustinJohnPlays I should be able to get the game tomorrow. I don’t mind spoilers for the gameplay aspects. But I really want to avoid story spoilers. That’s why I have only been watching your videos, because I know you won’t spoil the story for us.
@@AustinJohnPlays naw man! We want to give you views!😂
I'm a bit of a newb, so I'm watching the "early game tips" videos, then play the game for myself, and binge Austin in a month or two :D
I did about 80% of BotW without looking anything up. Totally doable and well worth it. Don't do it man. These games are intuitive enough. Although it did suck missing the snow and sand boots haha
Yo, props on having Link pose like that iconic, "Is this a pigeon?" meme, Austin, already loving the chaotic goodness coming from Tears 👏😂🎉
Tip: Similar to BOTW, you can use Ultrahand/Fuse to check missed items or hidden chests under water
Also good to find rocks for Korok puzzles.
"Go to the Rito first"
So _exactly_ like Breath of the Wild, then. The Rito are clearly the optimal choice to visit first... even if I went to the Zora my first BoTW playthrough.
Recalling the rocks that fall from the sky is singlehandedly the most useful tip in this game
Definitely one of my favorite little cheats
what does it mean?
Just gotta say, I started watching your videos when BOTW came out. I found them highly informative and entertaining. Ever since they announced TOTK, I’ve been eagerly waiting for you to pump out videos. And man, you do not disappoint. Hats off to you dude! Keep ‘em coming!
Ascend is such an underrated skill , I loved it personally, saves me a lot of times
WE HAVE LIED STOLEN LOOKED INAPPROPRIATELY AND USED GOD'S NAME IN VAIN SO REPENT AND TRUST IN CHRIST FOR HE SAVED U HELL ON THE CROSS BY DYING FOR YOUR SINS
@@Espamgelist bro go take your schiz meds yeah?
@@Espamgelist kick rocks
@@darken27 you took that the wrong way friend it was not meant as an insult
Lol why underrated
This was immensely helpful. I dont even have my copy of the game yet but watching streams left me feeling so overwhelmed with what to do once landing in Hyrule. Now i have smaller, concrete goals
It's a good starting place that way you have some gear and some confidence to go on and do whatever. It's like orienting yourself a little bit.
it’s so nice of Austin to always take the time to help everyone who’s barely getting the game. you’ve helped me since Pokemon Sword & Shield, where would we be without you :D
Quick tip for those who don’t know, apparently you can feed a horse an apple to tame it. Just in case you were having a difficult time actually taming it. Don’t know if this was obvious or not.
I haven’t seen your videos since I first played Breath of the Wild 6 years ago, and seeing you is almost like bumping into an old friend I haven’t seen in a while. You look older and sound different, but there’s something familiar and comforting about watching & listening to your tips. Thanks for all the years of great content.
2 tips I learned myself
1) you can unfuse items by opening your inventory and selecting the weapon you don’t want fused. HOWEVER, once you unfuse, the item you fused with the weapon you’re holding will be lost FOREVER
2) you can throw items by Holding R to throw your weapon and then press the top D-pad to open your inventory and select what you want to throw
Bro!!! Good looking I was just wondering if I could unfuse weapons and the throw thing was cluch cause I found these blind berries it said throw them and I couldn’t figure it out so I fused them to the arrow lol
@@deraelevans222 for thee arrows you aim and then click up on the D-pad and select what you want to attach to throw it farther than just throwing it with your hands
There is a way to unfuse without destroying the fused piece, but I'll let y'all find out on your own.
@@MkrTheOne can I get a hint at least? 😂😂
luckily the castle town ruins shrine teaches you this mechanic
for blurpees, id recommend gliding if you can then aim the bow, you can land at least a few shots for more rupees with the slow motion.
This make me genuinely happy. I first found this channel when I started playing breath of the wild because I absolutely sucked at it and all the videos helped me. Now here I am 5 years later watching in real time his video for the new Zelda. It makes me so unbelievably happy
Idk if people know but there is an NPC dressed in blue by the sheet blossom tree Austin talks about and she will mark 3 locations on your map showing you where to find some armor as well
Breath Of The Wild is how I found this channel, now with Tears Of The Kingdom we have come full circle! I’m excited for all the future videos and tutorials to come!!
Austin, great job! Thanks for all the content and all the work you do for us and our community!!
That depth and overworld shrines are at the same place is new info to me and extremely useful. Thanks!
A tip for people who have played BOTW and are now playing TOTK. Most depths entrances are the rough position of the shrines in BOTW.
I don’t remember where any shrines were 😂 also is it ever explained in game where those shrines went? They’ve just disappeared in this game along w the towers from the last game. The towers in this game are totally different
Been watching your videos this last week and your level of quality is excellent. Succinct, useful, well-edited and no fluff. Great work!
Just wanted to say: you’re a rockstar.
Been hear since BOTW and LOVE your content.
I’ve been looking forward to your coverage of this game as much as I’ve been the game.
You got a busy couple of weeks and hopefully you can find time to enjoy ‘just’ playing and relaxing.
Thank you so much for all of these Tears of the Kingdom videos! I just started playing the game a couple of weeks ago and I've learned so much from them. I've watched almost all of the videos on your Tears of the Kingdom playlist. Keep up the awesome work!
This was the exact way I found your channel 6 years ago when I played Breath of The Wild. It's so exciting to finally play Tears of The Kingdom. Love the work man!
I'm so happy ajp zelda tips and tricks are back
100%
been way too long
I remember first watching you when you did Breath Of The Wild, and following your tips & tricks. So it feels really nostalgic & very fitting to do the same for Tears Of The Kingdom.
Quick tip about horses. Most of your horses that you registered from BotW are carried over into ToTK, meaning you can still have all of your horses from BotW in Totk
Mine didnt unfortunately and i cant figure out why. I even went back onto botw and saved again and made sure they were in the stable... 😔
@@CHINKICHOU are you using the same account to play? I went to a stable in botw and took a house out, then saved, then opened totk back up, and my horses were there.
@@darken27 yep. Same account 🤔 im not truly saddened by it but i cant figure it out... my save data is all backed up too so no idea lol
Your videos carried me through Scarlet and Violet and now I'm here for this. Your videos are truly great and clear and concise. You deserve a lot of credit.
Thanks!! I’ll definitely be using these for my second play-through of the game I’m about to start
Thank you so much.
After watching this video, I now have a reason to be even more confused about which one to start with.
But I'm so excited.
Good to see your TOTK tips there Austin your content is really well covered too from someone who enjoys your tips & play throughs here in the UK 👍
Another easy but great armor to get early on: go to the great tree stump west of lookout landing and you can find the Fierce Diety Boots there. I stumbled on them by accident in my first play through and they are great because it doesnt overlap with barbarian armor so you can stack them
Just want to say I really appreciate the dedication you put into these videos. Unmatched & extremely helpful
I love that you can now see what you collected. No more double checking places.
Wow, i remember watchng your guide on all 120 shrines in botw back in 2017/2018.
Great seeing your zelda content again.
Thank you so much for all of your content! Finding it super helpful! 💛
Thanks for everything you do Austin john 🎉
I first started watching you for your Shrines videos so I definitely would love one for this 😁 sometimes the way the guide (not that there's one for TotK yet) explains things gets confusing so having a video actually SHOWING what you're supposed to do, is very helpful.
I super love this one Stable feature where the sync your horses from BOTW. It’s sooooo cool!!!
I brought the game at launch but never had time to play it. Now I have time and realized I’m still in the beginning of the game 😭 good to know I can have my old horses.
6:49 I think it actually IS a traditional shrine, but Sheikah Shrines and Shrines of Light are very different from real-world shrines.
There is an NPC walking around that gives you markers for the caves with special armor in them, along with a hint of their special ability, I found her near the cherry blossom tree
Do you mean in that general area or very close?
@@Satori-lv3xt The general area, might be that the npc walks around as it was walking along a road
Looking forward to picking this game up today, though I'll admit I got a little sad when John said no more whistle sprinting...I loved whistle sprinting in botw...!😢 still excited for the new game though!
Austin, you’re the man. I love all of your videos. They are some of the most helpful and detailed videos out there. Keep up the good work!
After a long wait my game finally arrived and I can start my 'binge watching Austin & playing at the same time' journey!
I gotta say, I don't usually stay on a tutorial/game tips channel after I've watched the video I was looking for. But Austin is exceptional, and I find myself just watching his videos for fun, rather than trying to get any information from it.
I watched all your videos and I just bought the game and I just arrived on the ground, there is so much to do that I don't know where to start so I'm going to watch all your videos again haha
Thank you so much Austin always bringing the best of contents!
Wow! Thank you so much for this awesome video. I can't wait to play some more and find all these cool early game locations. You have a new subscriber!
Thanks Austin really lovin this game and these videos Seriously super appreciate all the TOTK tips and guides man it is immensely helpful and super fun all around 👌 you’re the man as always
Its so good to see you guide me through Zelda again!
Finally picked up my copy I can’t wait to get started ❤ Ty in advance for how many of your videos I’ll need
Thank you so much for the content! There are so many helpful tips in this video. It didn’t even dawn on me that we could ascend out of a cave 🙈
I was waiting for a video like this from you , cheers my man
I appreciate this video, thank you AustinJohn. 💚
Thank you so much for everything you do. Much respect and greetings from Belgium
me an my son playing the game as we speak, and right off th intro some questions from thr trailer have already been answered, and i should probably stop theory crafting because the more i think about it the more i eventualy end up right and spoiling myself. i wishall the happiness for you guys when u get to play your copy. cheers!
Yes! Shrine per region video 100%!
Always love your guides!
I agree with you that things feel familiar but also different. It’s like visiting some far off land, having a great time, and then going back for a visit and things have changed. In this case, in a good way
Fantastic tips and help! Thank you so much! You have again, saved me hours of frustration 😃
Very helpful as always mate. Please do the shrine per region vid!
Thank you for keeping that Bear moment for us to enjoy 😂
Thanks for a very thorough lesson on auto builds that I’m definitely going to make and save as favourites.
i come back after like 5 years from the botw stuff and you’re still on the grind still getting views still making guides, love it
That shrine/lightroot tip for Blackreach is awesome.
This is super helpful especially starting out in the Hyrule ground. Appreciate your work as usual 😊.
It's time to binge watch Austin John tips and tricks videos! Gotta like them all
It’s my fave time again! A new game drop means constant Austin John content! My fave gaming creator 💜
Can't wait to play this game. Been waiting till I'm done with finals this week before I jump in. For now I'll just watch your amazing content.
Thank you💛
Big big thank you Austin!
I got a bunch of those fire thrower things from the sky island before I jumped off and then fused them to most of my spear weapons and then just cleared out hyrule castle for the good gear before even doing anything else
Honestly the best in the business. No one is this detailed when it comes to new games. Hope your also taking time to enjoy the game man.
Great to watch these videos at work while I wait to get home and play
A list of shrines per region series would be greatly appreciated ! 🎉
Gods bless you for your work dude
Thanks!
Watching Austin playing a new Zelda game brings back memories of my botw early days when I first discovered you!!!!
Thanks again! You’re a legend! 👍
@AustinJohnPlays thanks for these early game tips bro, I really need them as someone who played most of BOTW but never finished it but intends to finish the sequel, I must say just being thrown into Hyrule with no direction is frustrating to say the least
Thank you so much ❤
Quick tip: If you're having trouble with the hot or cold, fusing a Ruby to a weapon will keep you warmer while it's equipped and even melt ice chunks if you stand close. Fusing a sapphire will cool you down. This way you can do the Wind Temple without any cold reduction clothing, or with one piece and not worrying about food.
Also using fire against an ice creature or ice against a fire creature is often a one hit kill (especially against lizalfos)
My favourite thing about the stable is that it keeps your previous horses if you have your Breath of the Wild save. I started off with Zelda's horse from BoTW after I registered a random wild
This tips video was way better than expected. I half expected some recycled tips from breath of the wild. Nope, this was fresh and important.
Thank you for your hard work.
Horses have a literal horsepower stat. Fantastic.
Yay! It's AustinJohn season!! ❤
Insanely helpful
Hopefully in the DLC they’ll have something like trial of the sword. The proving ground combat shrines reminds me of trial of the sword from last game.
I don't know why, but I love watching these after I have finished the sections of the game covered by the video.
that was cool! thank you
Picked up my copy of TotK. Going to play after seeing a few guides first.
"wutter" get's me everytime 😆
Thanks for the quality content!
I lined uo for half an hour for this game on launch day. I bought two copies. Played it for 6 hours straight. Very addictive, great uogrades. Great puzzles.
Thank you!!!😍
7:55 it's not exactly like the first game. In the first game, the stone talus would stay down a little longer when stunned, giving you enough time to climb up. On this game, he doesn't stay down for very long at all. However, I didn't know you could rise through his body, so that makes a big difference. Thanks for showing that.
Love i Austin John❤️❤️ ill come to your channel for more guidance on bow to get gear and stuff😘
