When I saw the title, I thought she would be covering Hwasa's Maria. Kim Ah Joong's Maria is a song that I don't usually think of most idols covering because of how hard it is. I am so so soooo proud of Yena for the strides She is making in the Kpop industry post-Izone. I have to admit I was not expecting her to rise above everyone else who went solo and it makes me so happy to see how She's cementing her place as an absolute ace.

Her vocal tone color is unique and evokes a lot of emotions and if you combine that with her almost flawless technique, it's almost unbeatable. In my personal opinion even singers like Tayeon, IU, Wendy, Solar, Wheein doesn't come close to her. Suhhyun from AKMU is also an exceptional singer as well, but she still needs some catching up to do. The only ones that have similar capabilities are probably Ailee and Sohyang. They are masters of their craft.
Idk I just listened to solji’s cover and it’s truly not very mind blowing.. her voice is just deeper and resembles a more western style. She doesn’t have much range to the song and basically belts the whole thing idk I’m just not impressed honestly.
