Love your videos! Especially this one. It breaks down all the rules for painting furniture, which I’m just getting started on. Love being creative and making a change without the expense of buying new! Can’t wait to see what you are doing next! ❤❤❤
This video is incredibly helpful! Thank you! I’ve had a piece of furniture at home I wanted to flip and didn’t know how to proceed. This video helped a ton!
Thank you so much for your help. I want to start by I have a health issue and can’t work on them every day. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
Thank you for your clear tips! I’m getting the “bug” to paint furniture after buying a dresser from FB Marketplace for $25. It’s going well and now I’m wanting to try again on more pieces. All of my furniture is hand-me-downs and need some freshening
You always give great advice and start with “if your a beginner” which most people are. I’ve refinished furniture before and that is a lot of work. At my age I don’t or can’t do that anymore. I believe painting with chalk paint is the way to go. Again, thank you!
Could you maybe make a video on tips to be more sustainable ? I feel like I'm wasting a lot of plastic packaging and those little foam brushes... Is there more non disposable options? I feel great that I'm not buying new and I'm making over old furniture but at the same time I feel like I'm still using a lot of disposable stuff :(
Thank you for this video! I have learned a lot from all your videos! A couple months ago I did my exterior/kitchen door that is metal and I used Beyond Paint that I learned from your channel and it is so much better, no chipping unlike a latex paint I had used before. So thank you for such wonderful tips and yes, using products from small businesses.
Thank you for sharing your steps and tips. You are the first person that I have come across in this category/industry sharing at this detail. I have no desire to make any money on flipping, but only wish to save $$ and improve my home.
Great video. All of your paint brand recommendations are wonderful but I also love general finishes brand paints(the gel stains and the milk paints, especially). Thanks for the information.
Hello Christina, Awesome video , yes I feel like I can do this 💃🏻🎉I’m definitely inspired with this video. I have a question for you , I purchased a dinning table that, definitely needs some love before I get to use it, what paint brand and top coat would you recommend? I have a large family and we sit together at the table a lot , so I will need heavy Duty paint and top coat big time. 😂😂 Thank you in advance for your response! 💃🏻💝
I really enjoy and learn a lot from your videos. I wanted to see if you have any recommendations for painting cabinets? Would you recommend a certain paint? and sprayer or brush?
Hi Christina, I really enjoy and learned a lot from your videos. I have a piece of furniture which I want to repaint. Can you suggest me with the colour as this is going to be my first project.
Thanks for sharing! I recently used Dixie Belle Caviar followed by Howdy Doody Oil. On this particular piece it seems to not have enough of a protective finish. Do you have any suggestions? I thought about going over it with a wax…
Great recap and handy to have all this info in one place. Do you do a light sanding in between paint (I think you mentioned in between top coats)? And with a dark paint color, I've noticed the top coat can look streaky or like areas didn't get covered with the top coat. I later heard to add a little of the paint color to the top coat to prevent that. I was wondering if you've had that issue.
Yes those dark colors are tricky with a water based topcoat. I do add just a smidge of my dark paint to my topcoat to help with that clouding. I tend to spray my topcoat on black or use a wax or hemp oil to seal it because it can get streaky.
@Christina Muscari Thanks for confirming the possible issue with a top coat on dark colors. I painted end tables navy and had a heck of a time with the top coat. I didn't know about this at the time so I probably put on five coats trying to get an even finish!
I have a bookcase that is not wood, it is that laminated pressed board I guess. I really like the shape but the finish is to dark for my room now that we have updated the room. Have you ever painted this type of furniture and do you have any hints?
First time watching you and I’m so glad I am! Thank you for speaking my language easy, honest and cool{fun} I actually even took notes so if I’m taking notes omg I get you totally so thanks for being you loved it!🎨✨🤍
You make me feel confident! I’m so grateful to you for these steps and plan to jump in when I move to my new home!
Yes, just what I was hoping for!

Hi Christina. Great advice. I'm kind of a perfectionist. I'm learning that it's not going to be perfect painting by hand. I love all your videos!

Excellent tutorial on start to finish furniture painting steps!
Thanks, Dar.
Thanks for this
My pleasure!
Hi Christina and thank you❤️
Furniture paint you mean chalk paint? I am like you I get overwhelmed with the tones of choice in big stores

Hello love this channel. Wandering what hose and dust extractor do you use. Thank you
I am new to your channel. Do you sell pieces you have refinished? If so, do you let them cure before listing?
Thanks for sharing! I recently used Dixie Belle Caviar followed by Howdy Doody Oil. On this particular piece it seems to not have enough of a protective finish. Do you have any suggestions? I thought about going over it with a wax…
How do you get rid of the cloudiness after waxing over black chalk paint? Or is that normal? I have buffed several times but still have some streaks.

Yes. You can use the same paint and use a similar process. Search my channel for fake wood dresser and you can see a video on a non-wood dresser.
To clarify, you lightly sand between coats of topcoat? Do you also sand between paint coats? I'm sure you said this already, but I missed it somehow.
On your care and cure would a little bit of coconut oil be ok or nonono?
I would say no.
