    More compassion = no ill feelings towards others = basis of truthfulness, honesty, transparency = self-confidence = less fear = less sense of insecurity = inner strength = inner calmness = normal function of our intelligence. 1:04:24

      You should be happy you cant see of understand his talks to Tibetan monks in exile. They are very different to his talks to the public. They are filled with claims that he will die if they don't attack any Tibetan who does not worship him as the highest of lamas & who chooses to follow other Tibetan Lamas on the Indian colony instead

      +eternalricemuncher Why do you make such lies up about the Dalai Lama? Westerners for the most part aren't as stupid as you and your fellow cult members. You should stop attacking others and work for peace and truth in the world. Go read the 37 Practices of a Bodhisattva- you're not achieving most of them.

    The Heart Sutra
    as recited in the Triratna Buddhist Community
    The Bodhisattva of Compassion, When he meditated deeply, Saw the emptiness of all five
    skandhas
    And sundered the bonds that caused
    him suffering.
    Here then,
    Form is no other than emptiness, Emptiness no other than form. Form is only emptiness, Emptiness only form.
    Feeling, thought, and choice, Consciousness itself,
    Are the same as this.
    All things are by nature void They are not born or destroyed Nor are they stained or pure Nor do they wax or wane
    So, in emptiness, no form,
    No feeling, thought, or choice, Nor is there consciousness.
    No eye, ear, nose, tongue, body,
    mind;
    No colour, sound, smell, taste,
    touch,
    Or what the mind takes hold of, Nor even act of sensing.
    No ignorance or end of it,
    Nor all that comes of ignorance;
    No withering, no death, No end of them.
    Nor is there pain, or cause of pain, Or cease in pain, or noble path
    To lead from pain;
    Not even wisdom to attain! Attainment too is emptiness.
    So know that the Bodhisattva Holding to nothing whatever, But dwelling in Prajna wisdom, Is freed of delusive hindrance, Rid of the fear bred by it,
    And reaches clearest Nirvana.
    All Buddhas of past and present, Buddhas of future time,
    Using this Prajna wisdom,
    Come to full and perfect vision.
    Hear then the great dharani, The radiant peerless mantra, The Prajnaparamita
    Whose words allay all pain; Hear and believe its truth!

    pronunciation guide
    In Pali and Sanskrit every letter is pronounced and there are no diphthongs. The short vowels a, i and u, are voiced more briefly than the others which are known as long vowels. An approximate guide to pronunciation is as follows:
    Vowels:
    a as in `cut'
    a as in `cart'
    ai as in `high'
    au as in `out'
    e as in `veil'
    i as in `kick'
    i as in `bee'
    o as in `low'
    u as in `put'
    u as in `too'
    r as the ri in `trip' with with some rolling of the sound
    Consonants
    as in English, with the following qualifications:
    g hard as in `good'
    c soft as in `chat'
    d and t as in English, but with the tongue tip against the back of the upper front teeth
    d and t as in as t and d, but with the tongue tip curled up and backwards against the roof of the mouth h at the end of a word has a slight echo of the preceding vowel
    j as in `jay' unless followed by n when it may be hard as in `signal'
    s and s soft as in `shin'
    v is pronounced somewhere between English v and w
    Nasal sounds:
    Before a consonant make the natural sound associated with that consonant:
    nk as in `trunk'
    ng as in `sang'
    nc as in `crunch'
    nj as in `hinge'
    nt or nt, as in `tent' nd or nd, as in `bend' mp as in `limp'
    mb as in `limbo'
    Before vowels:

    m at the end of a word nasalizes the preceding vowel, as in the French bon.
    n as in `nit' but with the tongue tip against the back of the upper front teeth.
    n as in `nit', but with the tongue tip curled up and backwards against the roof of the mouth.
    Aspirated consonants are shown followed immediately by the letter h, and should be pronounced with an audible out-breath. Note that `th' is always pronounced as in `shorthand', `ph' is always pronounced as in `haphazard'. Doubled consonants are pronounced as such, e.g. sadda as in `midday', ks as in `bookshop'.

    Please keep an open mind and be like a innocent kid discovering and uncovering something fascinating. I keep my motivation by tapping into my child essence..I learned this from Choden Rinpoche a couple days ago in Santa Cruz...he said this is how you keep motivated and stay like a water fall...stable and consistent instead of a river that might dry up. the Dalai Lama says the same thing... almost every time I hear him speak... it's important, I think.. not just studying Buddhist teaching... I am a computer programmer.. the recent advent of "artificial Intelligence" and computers gives us an analogy with life.. the Intelligence is obtained by asking questions... otherwise it is just following the programming
      one small thing about the worries about our economic situation... it's not so much having economic choices that causes problems... it seems to me the lack of choices is the issue... I have never met anyone who actually wants to be poor

    • @eternalricemuncher
      @eternalricemuncher Před 9 lety

      Buddhism teaches to give up all worldly desires & live simply. The ultimate example was Milarepa. People who saw Tibetans as serfs who needed luxury & wealth do not understand this. Milarepa lived in a cave & his only possession was a piece of cloth. He ate nettles & looked to worldly people like he was suffering from poverty, malnutrition & great hardship. In fact he was in an advanced state of ecstasy and felt immense vitality & strength. Its important to give people the choice to live a non materialistic life...it only becomes a bad thing when someone is sucking up the wealth & telling these people give me your wealth in the name of spirituality. I am saying this as someone who is persecuted by the Dalai Lama & his attack on the Tibetan monasteries who don't accept him as the best teacher of Buddhism on the Indian colony

      There is little honour or decency in the kind of life that you describe. I haven't heard of Milarepa, but he sounds self obsessed to the point of narcissism. Whist the world is riven by war and poverty, the only decent life is one that seeks peace and social justice through meaningful action.

      is this form of Buddhism full of infighting like the Dalai Lamas is? Before the Dalai Lama there was harmony. Then he banned a 400 year old practice and told people if they continued the practice he would leave this world. Half the people wanted him to 'stay' in this world to defend them against China so they then attacked the other half saying not following the ban will make the Dalai Lama ill. Now there are 2 factions & whenever the Dalai lama wants anyone attacking (for example a Geshe in exile who wont obey him) he tells Tibetan people that this person is pro china. Then Tibetan people all storm that persons house screaming at them & smashing it up............Dalai lama really promotes world peace. If he ruled the world he would ensure you know him as god king & never disobey him. You would grovel & be ostracised if you refused to bow. Banned from shops, hospitals, kids booted out of school.
      This is the Dalai lamas model for world peace. The real way you check if someone is an authentic role model is see how the communities they rule over are functioning.
      Buddhist ones are very much master & servant. This is wrong because Buddha taught that all living beings are equal.

      What he speaks has no pretense and only to benefit the sentient being such as ourselves and he spoke deeply from his wisdom and experience . A person like him is a rare and the love he exudes for others is still rarer. If our mental clouds withers away we may be able to understand his teaching better ... as to your difficulty in believing his recantations ... I think that has anything to do with how our mind receives his teaching and how effective we are in fighting our afflictions . His reincarnation for Buddhist is greatly helpful in increasing their faiths and for non Buddhist it should not mean anything . May he live long and healthy .
