The thing is like this , Derek Jeter is the Kobe Bryant version of Baseball, he plays for one team during his whole career, which is the New York Yankees from 1995 to 2014, he was 14 time All Star, the 1996 Rookie of The Year, won the championships 5 times (1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2009) and collected 3.465 career hits. And this year, he just got elected to the Hall of Fame just one vote shy to be elected unanimously.
And Alex himself was a brilliant player as well in his prime. Won the MVP in 2005 and 2007, he have a 696 career Home Runs, just 4 shy to 700 HRs.

Some additional tidbits to let you know from the perspective of a huge Yankees fan which I hope you read:
We're far and away the most hated team in MLB. I don't know who the most hated soccer team is (Manchester United?), but think them times a hundred. They have the most amount of championships (27), are known for spending money on top free agents to contend and the loud minority of our already massive fanbase results in all of us on the receiving end of relentless vitriol on a personal level which sucks. Factor in that a lot of people tend to downplay their accomplishments.
If you were to decide to pick a team, the immediate response you would get from others is "Anybody but the Yankees."
As for the Jeter/Rodriguez thing. I'll piggyback off the video: Despite both of them gaining more success, well it already addresses how Jeter remained humble and also spent his entire career in NY (1995-2014), while the latter was mostly "Me first!" which continued when he joined the Yankees. Unlike his Mariners/Rangers days, the amount of talent on the team overshadowed this.
As mentioned, he was busted for steroids in 2009 which dated back to when he first joined the Rangers (though I believe it was before that) and later suspended the entire 2014 season after getting busted again.
A-Rod is an analyst now for ESPN (Entertainment Sports Programming Network) and MLB Network and a lot of people from other fanbases like him in that role because he knows the game.
P.S. Aaron Boone, who Alex Rodriguez replaced, is now the manager of the Yankees.

In 2009. When he was recovering from a hip surgery in the offseason, he make a controversial statement, that during his days in Texas he admitted that he was using Steroids, and some in his early years in New York as well. And after that confession the League investigated Alex's statement, and before the 2014 season begins, Alex got suspended by MLB for the 1 whole year, Alex try to appeal that suspension and try to convinced the commisioner to reduce his suspension, but the appeal was not granted, and Alex still suspended for 211 games that year (including the playoff games). After the season ends, he returns to the Major Leagues in 2015, and he also hit his 3000 career hit with a Home Run just like Jeter did when he hit his 3000 hit with a HR back in 2011. And during his Yankee days, Alex is also a big public enemy to the Boston Red Sox fans.

@@Warum.2439 it's very easy to look up, ironically on the exact same baseball-reference.com site you suggested the other guy do some research on.
      From 2000-2009, A-Rod had a .304/.401/.587 with a 153 OPS+
      From 2001-2009, Pujols had a .334/.427/.628 with a 172 OPS+
In addition to that, during this timeframe, A-Rod struck out 1,243 times and Pujols only struck out 570 times. A-Rod has 100+ strikeouts every one of those seasons except 2009. Pujols never had more than 100 strikeouts in any of those seasons.
Pujols average WAR per season was 8.2, Rodriguez's was 7.8.
The only stats Rodriguez was better in was counting stats like HR and RBI, and that can be accounted for by the fact that he had an extra year that Pujols didn't. However, in terms of seasonal averages, A-Rod averaged 44 HR and 124 RBI per year and Pujols averaged 41 HR and 124 RBI per year.
So tell me what "every metric" Rodriguez was better in during that time out of the ones I just showed you?

ARod was a better hitter than Jeter, and a better fielder, but he was a steroid cheat who had a unique ability to irritate people. He seemed to enjoy breaking the norms and unwritten rules of the game.
One incident that wasn't mentioned in the video happened in 2010 when the Yankees were playing the Oakland A's. Dallas Braden was the pitcher for the A's. ARod was a runner at first base, and had made it to third base on a foul ball by Yankee teammate Robinson Cano. After a foul ball a runner has to go back to the base where he started, and ARod took a shortcut across the pitcher's mound. You don't do that in baseball. The pitcher's mound is considered to be the territory of the pitcher, and players are taught in Little League not to do this. When the inning was over, Braden yelled at ARod and threw his glove toward the Yankee dugout.
After the game, Braden said, "The Yankees are an extremely classy organization with guys who always tend to do the right thing every time; it’s kind of disheartening to see that not show through or be reflected by somebody of (Rodriguez’s) status. He’s a tremendous player and a tremendous talent, and I don’t care if I’m Cy Young or the 25th man on a roster; if I’ve got the ball in my hand and I’m out there on that mound, that’s not your mound. You want to run across the mound? Go run laps in the bullpen. That’s my mound."
ARod responded with, "He told me to get off his mound, I didn’t know what he was talking about. I thought it was kind of funny, actually. I had never quite heard that before, especially from a guy who has a handful of wins in his career." He said, in so many words, that a pipsqueak like Dallas Braden didn't have any business criticizing the great Alex Rodriguez, and also that he'd never heard an offensive player was supposed to stay off the pitcher's mound (which is nonsense).
The two players continued to feud in the press for several days. A couple of weeks later on Mother's Day, Dallas Braden pitched a perfect game - only the 19th in MLB history up to that point. Braden was no longer a pipsqueak, and ARod didn't say much about the incident after that.
This may seem like a small thing, but ARod's career was full of things like this. On the other hand, Jeter was very careful with his public image, and tried to avoid controversy when he could. They have very different personalities. Derek Jeter tries to maintain a clean public image, while there are times when Alex Rodriguez seems not to care what the press, the public, and other players think of him.

A Rod = Ronaldo Jeter = Rossi. Rossi is beloved by his club for his intagibles and his clutchness. ARod is one of the most talented players EVER, but just never "fit in". Im glad ARod and Jeter are both happy now, because they are two of my four favorite players of all time. With Bernie Williams and David Cone.

A LOT of people were using steroids at the time. It was later named the Steroid Era. The connection the Yankee players used got busted, so they were among the teams where more players got caught than most (along with the Mets and Giants). But it was just as rampant on other teams.
But Jeter claimed that because of his reputation, nobody was dumb enough to ever talk about it in front of him. Basically the entirety of major league baseball was using steroids and nobody told Jeter.
He's just about the only one in baseball who could say something like that and have people believe him.

A-Rod was a much better player, and objectively based on stats he's top 15 all-time. However, he will never get into the Hall of Fame because he took steroids for most of his career. Jeter wasn't as good, but he was known as a humble guy and a good teammate, and he was so well respected by players and fans alike that in his final game, which was at Fenway Park, Red Sox fans (whose rivalry with the Yankees is probably the most famous in American sports) cheered for him. To be clear though, both of them were amazing players, and Jeter is one of the best shortstops in Yankees history. Since then, though, A-Rod has done a lot to clear up his reputation, presenting himself as a responsible husband and father and going on ESPN as an analyst. Jeter, on the other hand, is now part of the Miami Marlins' ownership, and I wouldn't say that he is very well liked down in Florida. The Marlins traded away MVP players like Giancarlo Stanton and Christian Yelich, stars like Marcell Ozuna and J.T. Realmuto, and top prospects like Chris Paddack and Luis Castillo, and the Marlins are pretty much the worst team in the National League.

The downfall started after Jeter won four World Series in 5 years. Jeter accomplished everything he needed to be a big star, and wanted nothing more than to be quiet and have nothing ruin the fame he got. A-Rod was known as a choker, playing for two of the worst professional baseball teams in history, and his mouth was a way to get the same fame Jeter got naturally. A-Rod was fire, Jeter was Ice. Jeter didn't want that fire anywhere near him knowing it would melt every accomplishment he had. Even though they were once friends, what A-Rod was saying about Jeter essentially was stabbing him in the back. A-Rod knew Jeter didn't want the spotlight.
