  • Patra or | Fish vegetarian( Poisson vegetarian) is an authentic Mauritian Snack, or dish made with Taro | Colocasia leaves. After applying dhal paste (Gato pima) or some used gram flour mixture , leaves are rolled and steamed. Thus I used the quicker version of it by microwaving it. It was my dad's favourite treats. The batter is prepared authentically, but instead of applying and rolling Taro | Colocasia leaves. If Taro leaves ain't available in your country you substitute by using Spinach leaves instead.
    I used Tamarind dipping sauce to eat along side.
    Tamarind dipping sauce:
    2 Tbsp Tamarind Pulp without seed | stones
    Salt to taste
    Pinch of Cumin powder
    Chilli powder to taste
    Add water to a saucy consistency
